We visited here on a Tuesday afternoon/evening. We received a warm and friendly welcome from the bar staff and the Guinness was very good!
Our meals were excellent, very well prepared, tasted great and were good servings leaving us very satisfied.
The new landlord and chef at this pub are doing a great job and I would highly recommend. We only visit the area a few times a year but will definitely come back.

Don’t take any notice of old reviews for this lovely country pub. It changed hands in October last year and is a welcoming, friendly and cosy pub with very friendly staff and a log fire. Smaller £10 lunch menu to suit a lighter appetite and also a varied main menu to choose from. Great food, good ales and fantastic service. Will definitely be back.

Popped in for Sunday lunch as heard about the new owners. Decided to opt for the roast pork. Didn't have to wait long for it to arrive. Very generous portions and the pork was lovely. To be fair my friend and I were both pretty full but opted for the plum crumble as dessert. It was lovely! Very competitively priced too. The staff were friendly and gave us a tour of what they'd done in the renovation of the pub. Can highly recommend the Black Horse Inn for a wonderful Sunday lunch!

Good, unpretentious, relaxed feel to the place. Friendly staff. I stayed one night and enjoyed the best steak & chips I've had for a long time! And excellent freshly cooked breakfast. Cosy room, basic but all functional and clean. Very comfortable bed. Unlike some pubs it wasn't noisy and I got a good night's sleep.

Under new ownership so decided to try out the food. Had a really delicious burger! Lovely crispy chips. Very reasonable price at £17 for a large plate of food. Great walk by the river nearby. Will definitely visit again.

Went for my birthday dinner. Refurbished to a very modern standard. Clean, comfortable, nice atmosphere, very welcoming and friendly staff. All fresh, local produce cooked on site (not microwaved). Super menu with a variety of dishes, not complicated, neatly presented and good pricing.

Thoroughly enjoyable evening and I would definitely recommend it.

This pub has recently been taken over by new owners/chef and refurbished/redecorated. It has letting rooms which I haven't experienced as we went for an evening meal with friends. Our group had the most wonderful home-made mushroom soup with bread and tempura king prawns for starters. Our main courses were the rump steaks and the burgers with the most devine chunky chips. We would thoroughly recommend the food and friendly service and we've already booked for the pie night specials they have on a Thursday! There's nothing better than a good pub that serves great food and this is going to be so popular with people from the surrounding villages and the new owners deserve all the success as they're working so hard.

Went for an evening meal with family. Excellent service, friendly and accommodating to dietary needs. Food was quick to be served and was delicious, good portions and good price. Nephew stated ‘best chips he’s ever had’. A nice real fire also. We will be visiting again. We were also given a pack of cards to keep the nephew entertained! Nice touch.
