We stayed for the weekend and will definitely be going back at some point. Our room was very comfortable and we had the best nights sleep on a very comfy bed. Vincent was amazing, very attentive and friendly, nothing was too much trouble and he had lots of advice for places to eat etc. We had a very tasty breakfast each morning which was cooked by Vincent. We cannot recommend this venue enough.

This is a lovely guest house in an excellent location. Well within walking distance of the town. The hosts were both friendly, welcoming and knowledgable of the area. We had an excellent nights sleep and the breakfast we had here was delicious. Would happily stay here again.

I have nothing but WONDERFUL things to say about Black Rock House.|Even before we arrived, Vincent had sent us detailed information on how to find the hotel, accompanied with a list of restaurants and things to see in the area.|When we arrived, Vincent greeted us with a huge smile and showed us to our room. The room was perfect, clean, and fresh, with a lovely en suite bathroom and sea view also. We had everything we needed for our two night stay, including fresh coffee and tea in the room, and some delicious biscuits.|The second best thing about our stay, however, was the breakfast. Presented on a beautiful Victorian table, it was like something out of a fairytale. Fresh croissants, tea, coffee, an assortment of Fortnum & Mason jams...it's the kind of breakfast I dream of! |And the best thing about our stay? Vincent's wonderful character and big smile! We enjoyed many chats with him during our stay, and it was great for me to speak French again with a native speaker. |If you're looking for a little haven away from the busy seafront in Hastings, I cannot recommend Black Rock House enough. Infact, it needs ten stars in my opinion!|Thankyou Vincent and Julian (though we didn't get a chance to meet Julian), for a wonderful, unforgettable stay. Black Rock House is outstanding. Vincent is a wonderful host who prepares a phenomenal breakfast. He is also very caring, thoughtful & considerate. The property is spotlessly clean, with comfortable rooms. You are made to feel welcome & invited to relax & enjoy yourself. And make sure you meet Clovis 🐶

This was a really different experience from the usual B&B. Vincent made us feel very much at home and the whole house was like a home not a hotel. |Breakfast was different too as there was no traditional English breakfast but the ham and scrambled eggs on offer were refreshingly different and delicious. Croissants were just the best! |The house was on a quiet street and the bed and pillows so comfortable so we had 3 great nights sleeps. Our room overlooked the gardens which was lovely. |Would highly recommend for a different B&B experience.

We have just returned after a short 1 night stay at Black Rock House in Hastings. We were visiting Hastings whilst viewing a Puppy close by. We had a very peaceful welcoming stay. Communication was great from the owners and we felt relaxed straight away. Although we didn't have much time in Hastings you could tell that the location would be great if you wanted to explore. We had a lovely meal at La Bella Vista which was recommended by Black Rock House in the welcome email. As mentioned in other reviews Vincent was a superb host. We had a fabulous breakfast and Vincent prepared a beautiful scrambled egg and smoked salmon dish! Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again, thanks, Luke and Danielle

My wife and I have stayed here before so it was an easy choice to revisit. |First can I say, Black Rock House is like no other place we have stayed in. The owners are Vincent and Julien, both lovely but I’m afraid most of our praise must fall upon Vincent. When we met him again on this visit it was like meeting an old friend such is his personality. He is so welcoming that he makes each guest feel as though they are the only ones staying. His attention to detail and pleasant manner makes you want to spend time talking with him and sharing stories.|He has great knowledge of where the best places are to eat locally which is always a great help. |Our room was lovely, from the biscuits, tea and coffee to the single rose from their garden placed on the dressing table. It’s always the little things that make a difference. |When we were out for the day Vincent had completely tided our room again with given fresh provisions and another fresh rose which my wife loved.|The room was comfortable, clean and bright.|Breakfast isn’t like any other breakfast, it’s a visual feast, from the freshly baked croissants and fresh fruit with a large selection of preserves, fruit juices etc. |Vincent is always nearby with his pleasant conversation and smile and he cooks the best scrambled eggs I’ve ever had. |Visiting Black Rock House is an experience like no other.|Thank you Vincent and Julian for opening your home and welcoming us in. |We will be back soon.

Our visit to Hasting was made more special by staying at Black Rock. Vincent went far above any expectations. The inn itself is beautiful & comfortable. The amenities are beyond special: robes, toiletries, view, in-room refrigerator, personalized recommendations & directions. Breakfast is incomparable. The food and the setting belie any simple description! We can not say enough about what a difference sharing Vincent’s and Julien’s home made to our stay in Hastings. Don’t miss this gem. But do take a taxi if you arrive by train. It’s not far but the stairs & hills are daunting!
