Had high expectations after coming here on many recommendations only to leave feeling disappointed.

Food was amazing and no issues as well as lots of Gluten Free available (call in advance)

But the atmosphere was tired and café like and not what you expect of a tea room. Sticky tables, Flies, Worn leather seats, Laminated basic menus.

Customer service wasn't even friendly, Lucky to get a smile out of the staff let alone ask about the menu.

But hey it was "affordable" just a long drive to be let down

Eek… I wanted to like the tea house, but my food was so below the mark I couldn’t.
Scrambled eggs & salmon on an English muffin, doesn’t sound a complex dish does it?
The waitress brought out my first plate, saying ‘hmm, if you find those eggs overcooked, well do them again’, so I declined the rubbery gravel in the hopes for second plate of nice scramble. Sadly the second plates was equally as overcooked and without a spec of seasoning. The muffin was sliced open so all the lovely craggy texture, which comes from opening a muffin correctly, was lost besides it being barely toasted.
My portion of salmon from plate 1, to 2 was increased, I’m assuming to rectify the rest of the shambles on my plate.
It’s so hard to like a cafe when they can’t get the basics, like scrambled eggs and a toasted muffin, right. SO disappointing 🫤

Old worldly interior with lots of nice beams and served tea beautifully in teapots requiring tea strainers which was a great change. Not much for someone with dairy allergies and also a vegetarian and the door being left open frequently made it uncomfortable to linger.

I was a little concerned after the recent reviews. However, we found friendly service. We sat outside with our dog as it was warm enough. Lots of cyclists arrived during our visit. It certainly appears to be a favourite haunt for them. We had a lovely cream tea, which was nicer for having a warm scone and no sultanas!

So just cycled 40miles to go get a coffee and some cake, nice hot morning, beautiful weather

I ordered a hot chocolate and coffee cake which cost £8.40

Asked the lady if I can have some ice for my water bottle, and she said: "NO.. I only have a few left"

As though I am an inconvenience in her little coffee shop.
So rude, where she then served people orange juice and water with a glass of ice each

WHAT?

If you run out, then face that problem, or be better prepared running a shop that serves drinks on nice hot days

I am also a customer that supports your business and you were really unkind. It's not like I was there looking for a handout, I spent money in your establisment

I have been to your place a few times now, and I will NEVER come back.

There are some words I would use to describe you, but it wouldn't be fitting on here.

and nice work with your table outside, bit of a health and safety hazzard, nothing quite like a few splinters in the arms.

Hopefully no one gets hurt and makes a claim against you.

Suppose taking peoples money is a bigger priority than being kind and looking after your building

Blackmore Tea Room is a great stop for a bite to eat when in the area. Friendly staff, an assortment of food to pick from and caters for cyclists with the ability to store your bike in a rack and a track (floor) pump.

The food is priced well with a selection of breakfast/lunch items or cakes and pastries, accompanied by a variety of hot or cold beverages.

Friendly and well-mannered staff are on hand to help during your stay.

The atmosphere is great. On some days, it can be thriving with cyclists who are riding around the area and others can be more subdued, but anyone that arrives are genuinely good beings.

Overall, it is always a pleasure to visit Blackmore Tea Room. You'll have a great time being there.
