I hate to say it was our first visit on Father’s Day, even though we live in the next village. What a lovely couple who own this stunning place. They couldn’t do enough for you, and an extremely busy day! Sunday lunch was tasty, fresh and the gravy the right consistency. Great drink selection, the waitress was friendly and nothing was too much hassle. The building, decor and furnishings are quirky, classy and beautiful. We can’t wait to go back Tuesday for their pizza evening and a Hawkstone lager. A MUST visit!!

My family (17of us) recently stayed at a property in Petty France to celebrate my husbands 80th birthday. We decided to book a table at the Bodkin for the birthday meal. What a fantastic decision that was. Wonderful food and Gaynor and Matthew were perfect hosts. We also has pizzas take/away for another evening and had cooked breakfasts there on the day we left (saved last minute washing up). All highly recommended by all the family. Definitely will make another visit in the future.

What a fantastic decision that was, wonderful food and Gaynor and Matthew were perfect hosts, they made us so welcome. Bodkin House is a charming countryside hotel, with heaps of character! We reserved a private room for a murder mystery and the owners really went above and beyond to make our time there special. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone hosting an event in their area.

We had only visited The Bodkin once before and probably ten years ago and it was not good. |Today (Jan' 24th 2025) we headed to The Bodkin to meet friends for a meal that they had booked. |WOW what a change! |We were warmly welcomed by Gaynor and her husband Matt (Chef). We were not rushed in any way. |The menu offered a good selection of choice. I can recommend the Steak and Ale pie, and the Sticky Toffee pudding with custard. |All meals were freshly cooked. |Mine hosts were lovely people, providing lovely food with lovely service. |Will definitely return, well worth the forty minute drive.

We stayed for one night and the room was spotless - lots of lovely touches including Rituals hand wash!
The owners make this place the gem it is - nothing is too much trouble, and everything is given impeccable thought.
Amazing breakfasts too, all freshly prepared.

We had a wonderful meal at the Bodkin House Hotel. The food was all fresh and home cooked. The new decor creates a wonderful, cozy environment in keeping with the country setting. Most of all, Mathew & Gaynor were so attentive to our experience. We will definitely be back again.

Brilliant place - we went for their Tuesday pizza evening - great pizzas, lovely owners, Matthew and Gaynor. Everything special. Will be going again to try their menus available on other days.||Trip Advisor has old photos - it's quite different now - they've done a great job.
