The bookshop itself is a 5/5, the cafe is a 4/5- It has a nice selection, although I’ve not eaten there in some time. I simply go in for a cup of tea now & again. The staff are friendly & it’s always clean. The cafe can perhaps get a little noisy when busy, could do with a few less tables, given the space.
The real let down is the bathroom. Doesn’t look as though it’s been cleaned, or maintained in years. The wall behind the hand drier looks mouldy, the sealant around the taps needs a good scrub, the room always smells, the toilet seat is coming off & the door to the cubicle is gone, so you have to lock the door behind you, however the lock is stiff & on more than one occasion, I’ve almost been locked in. The facilities really let down an otherwise flawless place.

A fabulous book shop with a café, a train for kids to play in, and even fish in an indoor pond. They have a fabulous selection of educational children's books and a collection of handmade accessories on sale too.

We had never visited Spalding before and therefore just happened upon this gem hidden away on a quiet street. The cafe aspect is spacious with a mix of tables and sofas. The young staff were wonderful, as was the cake!

The bookshop aspect is large with a comprehensive range of books for all ages. We found some great reading for our grandchildren.

We sensed that this bookshop was a great hub of the local community. Will definitely return.

An incredible venue - books, café, and more - with knowledgeable and charming staff. Their book ordering service matches Amazon's next day delivery. All overseen by the wonderful, dynamic Sarah Halgarth. Get yourself to this independent bookshop. Support our independents!

On entering was asked to sit at any clean table. All available tables full of dirty crockery so picked the one with least amount of crockery and moved it onto another table already full of used crockery. Staff too busy chatting to clear tables and making no effort to return even some of the used crockery when walking past the tables empty handed.
Eventually ordered our meals and after a while told that my wifes choice was unavailable.
That said, the food, when it did arrive, was good.
After we had been here for over half an hour one waitress started clearing the 7 or 8 tables that were still full of dirty crockery again whilst the other two were at the counter chatting.
