We were a little disappointed with our Spa break stay last weekend. On arrival after booking in there was limited seating so we had the cream tea an hour earlier than planned. This which we couldn’t fault. The Mayflower restaurant was lovely & its staff were brilliant, helpful & polite.
We were then shown the Spa area. This was not relaxing as so many people here we couldn’t sit & relax which was the one thing we had set out to do this weekend. We were shown a quieter area which was nicer.
The therapy rooms were lovely and mine was great but my husband’s massage wasn’t the 45mins & when leaving the room the therapist wasn’t stood outside the room. So he was disappointed.
Our evening meal was faultless. The food was delicious and the service by all staff was superb.
We had a courtyard room which was nice although I thought it had an odour & the carpet felt damp.
Overall the staff on reception, bar , housekeeping & restaurant, therapists were amazingly helpful, polite and attentive. But we wouldn’t go again for a relaxed break on a weekend day as it wasn’t to be .

What a beautiful, peaceful haven! I felt I had been away for 4/5 days & I only had 1 night! Very calming & relaxing. Excellent food. Loved the spa, had an amazing massage. Thoroughly recommend a stay. Wonderful!

Our stay was special from the moment we drove into the car park of this beautiful venue. The receptionists were very busy but extremely helpful and offered us a delicious soft drink whilst we were checking in. We had a sandwich in the bar before going to our room which was lovely and so peaceful with a very comfortable bed. We had dinner the first night which was so tasty and served by very attentive staff. After breakfast we didn’t eat again until the evening as we weren’t hungry. We also used the spa facilities and had a treatment each. We had a fantastic stay and in our opinion the staff (of which there are many) are the “jewel in the crown” of this establishment as nothing was too much trouble for them. We will be back.

Really disappointing stay. 5 star hotel with high prices meant our expectations were also high.
Room, food and spa were good but service was sadly lacking (certainly didn't meet the price tag).

At check in we were asked to book a time for breakfast - unusual, can't recall ever having to do this at any hotel previously. Booked for a leisurely breakfast at 9am as we had treatments at 10.30am. Turned up 9.05am and were asked to wait as others had turned up late. We waited until 9.50am before sitting down to a rushed breakfast. In the interim we were not offered tea, coffee, orange juice or a glass of water.

Things were very tense with the serving team and this was picked up by several guests.Again adding to a less than satisfactory experience.

We only got an apology for the wait as we left the restaurant after breakfast.

Service was not without fault at dinner the previous evening - our drinks order was forgotten, dessert took 30 mins to arrive after ordering and ÂŁ8 for a side of greens and the French beans weren't trimmed.

We did have our breakfast discounted but it did not cover the inconvenience caused.

We don't mind paying high prices when service is good but given this is a 5 star hotel standards fell a long way short.

Boringdon you must try harder to justify you prices.

One night stay over at Boringdon |Lovely wellness room, warm and inviting. Excellent room facilities with the complimentary use of spa products. I was left a lively bottle of gin and card wishing me well after ill health which was a surprising touch |I had a spa treatment off Amy who was lovely and professional and recommended products for my skin type. The spa itself is unique - the hottest pool i’ve ever been in just lovely!! The jet air beds are a gabe changer! highly recommend

We had an amazing weekend! Our second stay here and we could not fault it. Afternoon tea was delicious, our evening meal in the mayflower restaurant was spot on, and the breakfast was just as good with loads of choice. All staff are friendly and attentive. Room was big, clean and the bed very comfortable. The bar staff make a cracking old fashioned and all reasonably priced. The spa facilities are excellent and kept clean and tidy. We can’t wait to come back.
Thank you for making our anniversary special.

Just finished a 3 night stay, our 3rd visit.|Amazing as always.|We were pleasantly surprised on check in when we were given a free upgrade to a wellness room, unsure if this is because we have always stayed in those rooms previously or as we are part of the loyalty club but either way it was a lovely touch.|We spent 4 lovely days relaxing around the spa enjoying table service of lovely smoothies and the odd cocktail. |My hot stone treatment was the best I’ve had, and the relaxation area was lovely. |The food as always was superb as were the cocktails. We enjoyed lazy mornings and a late breakfast which was lovely and quiet.|Gym and the pool were well used by us.|I cannot find a fault with this hotel, every single staff member is polite, friendly and seems to be so happy within their workplace which is testament to the management team. |Thank you for a lovely break and we will be back soon.

Excellent stay once again, amazing spa facilities lovely warm pool. Spa receptionists could have been friendlier but apart from that perfect as always. Breakfast menu was lovely maybe you could add some avocado and poached egg on toast to the menu?
