Was part of the function band playing at a charity ball. I was really impressed by the venue. Very smart, spacious and comfortable as well as being full of old world charm. The plush decoration really helps to keep noise levels at a comfortable level, whether or not we were playing (some venues have hard surfaces and high ceilings so sound bounces around an multiplies, making conversation difficult even before the music starts). We didn’t eat at the venue but the food looked good and the guests all seemed very happy. The staff were excellent, so attentive, willing and friendly. Access to the event room was level and right next to the car park, and the manager had thoughtfully reserved parking spaces by the entrance for the organisers and band making the load in easy. |All in all, this is one of the very best venues we’ve played in the entire Southampton area. We’d highly recommend it and we look forward to coming back. Our thanks to the staff for looking after us so well, and of course to the charity, Smile4Wessex and guests who are always absolutely brilliant.

Loved this hotel. It had so much character. The staff were amazing. The room was so spacious, clean, and quiet. The bedroom and pillows were the most comfortable of any hotel I have stayed in. The breakfast was and evening meal was very tasty with quality produce used. I regularly go away to work and have to stay in popular chain hotels where the food is awful. |I would love to return.

Group of 8 stayed on a Saturday night. This Hotel Group is obviously trying to bring the Botley Grange back to what it once was and have invested in renovating the rooms and guest areas. Two of our group used the pool etc and gave positive feedback. I booked rooms only as the reviews on here did not speak highly of the breakfast but two of our party had breakfast and no complaints. Staff are helpful and openly admitted the quality of the food depends on which of the two chefs were on duty. It’s an old building so don’t expect air conditioning and do expect the odd noise in the night from the building. Rooms and hotel were very clean overall but needs attention to detail as cobwebs festooned the light fittings. Whoever does their laundry work is to be commended they definitely deserve praise. The hotel is used as a base for the cruise ships so car parking can be busy. Overall I would recommend staying here. Only major negative was they nearly charged us double for one of the rooms as two of our party stayed over on the Sunday night. Oh and rumour has it the ponds in the grounds are being cleaned and fishing may be possible soon

Arrived very late, wanted a shower - no towels in the room so had to get dressed and walk a long way back to reception to get some.

The leather headboard was scratched, peeling away and flaking all over the pillows. The mattress was very thin and lumpy - springs in my back all night.

Bathroom dated, although the water was lovely & hot.

Stayed for 2 nights, won’t be back sadly. Booked because of the history and exterior was interesting but overall not a good experience.

We booked the Foord Room for a very special Afternoon Tea for 18 ladies, to celebrate an 80th Birthday. Prior to the event, we received excellent service from Chelsea, who answered all our emails promptly and accommodated all our requests. On the day, the long table in the Foord Room was laid with crisp white tablecloths, which we decorated with floral arrangements and confetti. Our guests were made to feel very welcome by the attentive waitresses, who worked very hard to ensure everyone was happy. The sandwiches were very fresh and tasty, the scones were warm and the cakes and pastries were very pretty and tasty. We were offered numerous cups of tea as well as still, sparkling and flavoured water. We also enjoyed Prosecco and Nosecco to toast the birthday girl. Two of our guests were coeliacs and the chef really treated them to a fabulous tea, they said it was one of the best they had ever had! It was a very successful afternoon, all thanks to the excellent organisation by Chelsea and her team and also the chef. We are very grateful to everyone at the hotel - we have made some fabulous memories. Thank you.

Although the hotel is quite dated it is full of character. We stayed in the family room which was perfect for us. There is no wardrobe but we managed. We ate in the restaurant on Friday which was ‘steak night’. The food was superb and the steaks were outstanding quality. Overall the visit was perfected by the super friendly and efficient staff.

We recently stayed here for two nights to celebrate our 17th wedding anniversary. The setting is lovely and so peaceful - just what we were looking for. The room was clean and very comfortable. The food was great from the buffet breakfast to the evening meals. The biggest credit to this place is the staff, they were extremely pleasant and nothing was too much trouble for them they made us feel right at home.
I would recommend The Botleigh Grange hotel and spa to anyone wanting a relaxing short break.

Stayed 4 nights for a yoga camp nearby. The hotel is admittedly tired and some rooms need a little sprucing up however I cannot fault the service of the staff. My initial room was small with no chair or wardrobe to hang clothes so I had to leave clothes on my bed. Without hesitation they did offer another room which was executive double which was more spacious. They are slowly refurbishing the hotel and no doubt will be more to modern standards. The quirkiness of the hotel makes it more charming. The only thing I only want to cover is probably additional security for the room doors and plumbing pipes which tend to expel fog horn noises which not ideal. The staff do their best to accommodate all needs so thank you.
