We stayed here as a family the night before and the evening of our daughter’s wedding at The Venue. From the moment we booked Dee was the most helpful host. We all enjoyed our stay very much. The rooms are exceptional. It was a treat having a bath in the beautiful Gentleman’s Suite and our granddaughter enjoyed it also.|The Bridal Suite was large enough to accommodate all 7 bridesmaids getting their hair and makeup done on the morning of the wedding. |The continental breakfast was a welcome treat in the morning. As there are kitchen’s in each apartment there is availability to cook your own food.|The surrounding area is beautiful and close to a lot of places to visit. This gorgeous Aparthotel should be considered as a destination if you enjoy a relaxing space and luxurious surroundings.

Comparisons to “Fawlty Towers” abound in reviews but were a recurring theme during our stay at the Bowers Mill Aparthotel.||But first, some good things about the stay…||The location is lovely, with views across rolling hills and it can be very peaceful (but see later comments). ||Some effort has been made to make the rooms individual, though not a great deal beyond different wallpaper and a lamp. Likewise, there have been efforts to retain some of the features of the old mill building but these weren’t particularly noticeable in the rooms. ||The rooms are very clean and well-maintained. They have nice kitchens, with all the bits and pieces to cook a full meal, though I’m unsure who might be doing that. A large fridge was certainly handy for wine. ||The beds are large and (when you can get to sleep) comfortable.||Then the bad bits…||The four-person rooms have only two dining chairs, so you can’t easily share a takeaway meal. The bathroom has no light over the basin, so I shaved in gloom. The shower floor was frictionless when wet and an accident waiting to happen.| |And the farcical bits… ||We had booked two rooms, and this seemed to confuse the receptionist no end. She first charged us for one room but that failed somehow, so she then charged us for the two rooms as we had asked. She then realised that we had pre-paid for the room and told us she would cancel the charge, but we are still waiting for that two days later. ||Then the air conditioning wasn’t working in one of our rooms. We had changed our booking to this hotel for the air conditioning as it was expected to be the hottest nights of the year so far. The receptionist asked us “Have you tried opening the windows?”! All they could manage was to provide a couple of fans for the room, which blew the hot and stuffy air around. ||Sadly, the apartment block is a few feet from a huge wedding/party venue next door. The disco’s music continued until about 1am and, even with the windows closed, there was zero chance of sleeping until then. Woe betides anyone staying here with children. ||At last, blessed sleep. For 15 minutes! Then the fire alarm went off.||We, and others with babes in arms, were milling about the corridors uncertain what to do. So, we threw on some clothes to leave. Then a staff member appeared at our door and said our room had set off the alarm and asked if we were OK. Without checking the room for smoke or other problems, he accepted that we had no problems. He said it was probably a false alarm that happened there sometimes. The alarm was finally silenced after several more minutes of din. Before going off twice more!||We finally did get some sleep but our family in the other room never did really settle again. ||So, would I stay at the Bower Mill Aparthotel again? Nope. Never. Not a chance.

We stayed in the Botanical room of this apartment/hotel. And it was phenomenal. Absolute luxury. Everything you could wish for with a gorgeous bedroom, extremely spacious living room, huge TV with every channel you could think of, and a well appointed kitchen. It’s located in the middle of beautiful green countryside (like a Beryl Cook painting) but you just want to stay inside and wallow in the luxury. The staff were extremely kind and helpful (only visible when you want them). It may well be the best place I’ve ever stayed. Loved it.

We had an unforgettable stay at this exceptional hotel. The apartment was absolutely beautiful—spacious, tastefully decorated, and filled with natural light. Set in a tranquil location, it offered the perfect escape from the noise of daily life. The building itself is a stunning example of historic architecture with a modern twist.||This is our third visit here and what truly made our stay stand out, though, was the incredible staff—especially Dee. From the moment we arrived, she made us feel genuinely welcome, offering thoughtful recommendations and a personal touch that’s rare to find. We’ll absolutely be returning and recommending this gem to friends and family.||See you again next year.

I recently stayed at the hotel for a friend’s wedding. 6 of us stayed in one of the apartments - it was a really excellent suite, everything that you need for a weekend, and it was also genuinely lovely - really tastefully decorated. Beds were comfy and I slept well. It’s probably the nicest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The staff were friendly and very accommodating.

I know that all the members in my party had a great time, and would 100% recommend. (I’m not sure if the wedding venue is a separate entity, but that was quality too, without a doubt one of the best weddings I’ve been to!)

Further to this, I left my headphones in the apartment, and they immediately contacted the head of my party, emailed me about my current address, and sent them (for free) by recorded delivery. I didn’t expect them to even send them back, much less to cover the cost of the postage. The staff member I dealt with was Imogen, and I am very grateful to her and the rest of the team.

We stayed here the night before and night of our wedding and it was perfect. I had some requests on specialised key card covers and putting boxes in our guests room before arrival which Dee happily accommodated. Our rooms were cleaned and tided and the recycling taken away from the night before which really helped with the clean up the day of leaving. We didn’t have much time in our suite the night of so we’ll definitely be coming back at some point to stay and enjoy it then. Thanks again

We stayed as part of a concert ticket package to see a band at the Piece Hall. On arrival we upgraded to the Gentleman’s Suite which was fantastic. Dee on reception was incredibly helpful. The views from the room were great, very leafy. The place is incredibly peaceful. The room decor was lovely, the bed very comfortable and the bath in the room very luxurious. The only downside was the 10am checkout. Another hour would have made a big difference to a relaxed departure. But despite that we’d definitely stay again!
