Overnighted here recently 9th August 2017, delightful historic hotel, a little dated and lacking maintenance, poor shower pressure, very creaky floors and the armchair in my room had a leg detached. Anyway the Staff were very polite and informative, service was good. Amenities include a lovely Bar area and Restaurant. Disappointed with Dinner, I chose the rib eye which in fact it was not it was quite a grainy scotch fillet very grisly and over cooked, wasted most of my meal, also surprised that there were additional charges for any sauces selected and potatoes (chips). It is advertised a 3 star facility which it is and i would stay again but choose something different from the menu. The House Manager Emily was an exceptional host, very capable and efficient.

My husband and I were recently married at The Brandon House Hotel and we could not have asked for a more fantastic experience. From start to finish Paul, Claire, and their staff took care of us in ways we never expected. All of our guests enjoyed staying at the hotel and received excellent service. They took care of our every need. For the wedding itself we could not have asked for a better coordinator than Paul. He shut down the whole hotel just for us for the evening and ensured that the event flowed smoothly. Dinner was a delicious carvery and the appetizers and desserts were so tasty and numerous that our guests couldn't finish them all. I absolutely cannot thank The Brandon House enough. They truly completed our experience. We would highly recommend them as a venue for any event.

We booked a ‘family room’ as it was my husband, my 5yr Old son and I. We were booked into the annex as the only rooms with the extra bed - yes it’s all very dated but that is just aesthetics but the bathroom blind was mostly missing and the window faced straight up the main High Street. The annex room had its own stair case which was not gated (not a worry for us but unsafe if you had younger children) A lot of the lights didn’t work. Unfortunately there was little or no insulation/ sound proofing to the downstairs room which meant we could hear every word they said - they were quite drunk and rowdy so were talking very loudly until 5.30am!!! The only saving grace was we were offered a 50% refund without asking, breakfast was good and the coffee (which was much needed) was also great!

Stopped for two nights. From the outside it did not look appealing, in need of a make over, but was treated very well very tasty and well presented breakfast and a excellent evening meal room was clean and the staff was very helpful and pleasant. Please please a lick of paint and some TLC. Would stay again

Stayed at Brandon House for 2 nights.
It is a very impressive building from the outside and stands in its own grounds.
On arrival we were greeted by an extremely pleasant young man.
Our room was 110- it was very spacious with a large bathroom.
There was a large bed with spotless bedding.
A wardrobe and plenty of drawer spaces.
(Hairdryer in drawer).
The tea and coffee tray was stocked well. (Replenished each day).
The only 'negatives'- the decor is very tired- but not dirty.
We were at the back of the building where there was an extractor fan that was noisy and for a couple of hours at night there was a lot of noise from below. We think maybe from kitchens? Sounded like bins being moved and people talking.
It was just mildly annoying to us- but if you go to bed early, it could prove a problem. I suggest you ask on booking if your room is above here
We were greeted each morning by the same young man. Very friendly and professional.
The breakfast was exceptional.
Choice of cereal, yoghurt, fresh fruit and fruit juices, jams and marmalades.
Quality of breakfast was excellent.
An array of teas and filter coffee.
If you want luxury- this is not the place for you.
If you want basic rooms with excellent service and delicious food- this is definitely the place for you.

Just charming. The dated aesthetics lends it a idiosyncratic charm. Last decorated 8 years ago by someone with 1990s tastes it has that homely feel missing from modern hotels. Staff lovely, generous, and hard working.

Very helpful and friendly staff, cleaned to a high standard and reasonably priced. Only 3 stars though because the building and fittings are showing their age, also the TV antenna needs upgrading or boosting as the signal was very broken up.

Stayed 4 times now. Family rooms are ok, but they had small problems every time with the rooms like electrics tripping dodgy toilet flush and leaks from room above. Service and food and the bar is excellent. Its quaint, not modern, but it is comfy for a night or two.
