On the plus side it's right in centre. Don't believe the free parking as it's a lie. Insist on showing photo ID only by luck did I have. Took 4 rooms to get one that had electric, didn't stink and had a double bed that I paid for. No apologies. Very cheap bar that nobody uses as the service is awful. Cash only. Never ever again.

We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel, our room was light and airy and a good size, and spotlessly clean. Bed was very comfortable, |Breakfast was plentiful and tasty, and the buffet meal in the evening was the same, one meat, one fish and one veggie meal, so some thing for everyone, we also had a voucher for 241 wine or soft drinks at the bar, which was good value. We considered it good value for the price we paid. The only complaint from us was the general toilets, looking very sad and in need of a update.

This hotel is part of a chain of which I had never heard of previously. Some write ups have been poor but I must speak as I find, and that is that the staff and well motivated, even if the hotel is a little run down. Built in the 70's, it has 70's architecture - Britain wasn't at its best then as far as design went. The reason for choosing the hotel was the location as i was visiting the Herbert Art Gallery and also the transport museum and Cathedral - all within walking distance. I believe the majority of guests are on coach tours. In fact, of you are a coach tour guest you get a special happy hour at the bar of two drinks for the price of one. Sadly, I didn't qualify. Notwithstanding, excellent food outside nearby. The buffet was limited.My room was very large with a balcony. The bed / mattress was very comfortable. One door was missing off the cupboard, but never mind. The bathroom was large and had a nice big bathtub. Good stay. I was even allowed to check in early, albeit for a fee. Staff were very friendly. Location was excellent and should I be visiting again I would certainly stay here.

Walk into the lobby and it looks promising. Unfortunately it’s all downhill from there. Zero smile from the guy at reception, he must really hate his job. Got to my room via an ancient lift and it stank. Really horrible damp/old person smell. Room was freezing cold, thankfully I found a radiator which took the edge off. Furnishing was cheap but functional and decor was circa 1960s. Bathroom was dated, shower wasn’t very effective. The room door didn’t shut properly and had to slam it shut. The whole night was filled with slamming doors. Hotel bar closed at 9pm so couldn’t have a post dinner drink. Breakfast was grim, coffee machine didn’t work and the chef was roaming around talking loudly and throwing expletives into the air - proper Fawlty Towers vibe. Awful place.

Beds were comfy with crisp white bedding but the room had dust on top of everything. Someone had dropped a hat down the side of the drawers it had been there for sometime as it had a cobweb on it and dust. Mirrors were streaky as were the windows. Very dated decor in rooms and corridors. I rang in advance of stay to ensure vegetarian food for evening meal and breakfast and was told yes even vegan options available but none for breakfast was told none till monday .the staff on reception and dinning area were very nice and helpful house keeping were asked for extra pillows and obliged straight away.dont think I will stay here again.

A real mix of good and bad! You need ID to check in - this is not normal. The hotel was fairly clean. Room was large. Sockets were far from bed. Lights were good. Bathroom had soap but no shower gel.

Stayed here last weekend with friends.|Hotel was clean and tidy – our room was well aired and spacious.|If you want to be pedantic, you had to push the toilet handle firmly to get it to flush and there was a small chip in the bath but everything else was perfect. ||Bus station is over the road so easy to get to train station, car park nearby.|You can be in the main shopping centre within 5 minutes – easy access to food places, pubs etc..||Coventry Cathedral is around the corner and the transport museum across the road.|Staff were very helpful and friendly – just remember that you will need photo id when you check in.||We only stayed for one night but would have been happy if we’d stayed longer. We didn’t use the bar or restaurant so can’t comment on those. We got back to the hotel ~ 11.30pm and were let in by two solid looking bouncers – but don’t be put off they were really friendly and it gives you a good peace of mind as there are a lot of down and outs around the bus station.||For the price we’d paid, we were all very happy and plan to stay there again in the future.

The location is great, and the staff were pleasant. The hotel is very handy when a last-minute trip pops up, as I stayed here on 14th January.

The only problem was needing ID to check in, which was easily solved
