Stayed here for one night and used the parking. We made use of the half price bar and had a lovely meal in restaurant. Rooms are a bit dated but clean and adequate for 1 night stay. We had an early Morning flight and the location of this hotel made it ideal for us to drop our luggage the night before and enjoy a very short walk to the terminal from the hotel. Would recommend to anyone using the airport either before or after their flights

I wasn't expecting much from a stop-over hotel & the service from all the staff was great, but I have to say the room & the food were a total let down!

Booked a double but was given a twin bed - not the end of the world except the room itself was so tiny! I arrived in freezing temperatures yet I woke up in a sweat because the room was way too hot. Plug didn't work on one side so I had to switch between the kettle and the lamp as there was only 1 other socket. The bathroom was very worn & dirty.

Food was way overpriced for the quality & the restaurant opening times weren't accurate so I ended up paying more for a meal from the bar. Dinner the second night came in a deal, but the portions were very small & again very low quality - pasta had an odd taste & when I told a waitress, she commented that some other people had also complained. I didn't try the breakfast because I didn't want to waste more money on plastic microwaved food. Why is it so difficult to find nutritious, quality food these days?

The conference area is nice & warm however, although could be better signposted. Parking was advertised as free online but I had to pay for it when I arrived so perhaps that could be an error from the booking site. It was very difficult to find a spot within a short walking distance as it was busy when I stayed.

Overall it comes down to "you get what you pay for" - it was a cheap stay, could have had improvements to make it more comfortable, reasonable for a 2 night stay.

TL;DR: Britannia Hotel near Newcastle Airport is a convenient, walkable stay with cozy rooms, a relaxing bar, and a satisfying breakfast buffet.

Britannia is a solid choice for a short stay near Newcastle Airport. The location is great—easily walkable from the terminal, making it super convenient for travelers.

My room was cozy and had everything I needed for a comfortable night. After a long day of travel, the bar was a great spot to unwind, and the breakfast buffet was exactly what I needed to start my day.

If you’re looking for an easy, no-fuss airport hotel with all the essentials, this is a great option.

Fabulous hotel 3 min walk down a path straight to airport. Fabulous staff very helpful and pleasant. Room and bathroom was very clean and ideal for one night stay with parking for our holiday and everywhere we saw was very clean! Ate in the bar food was lovely and good choice of gluten free for me! Don’t know why anyone would give this hotel bad reviews!

We stayed one night with 8 nights parking & complimentary bottle of wine with our meal for under £100. We had 2 excellent starters, then the gammon & the liver for mains - both were excellent & great value for money. The service was also very good. We’ve stayed in the nearby Hilton & Premier Inn and when comparing value for money this no thrills hotel did everything we needed it to for one night well & more importantly was great value for money. We asked for 2 additional pillows at reception & 2 minutes later they arrived at our door. No complaints here. Thanks.

The room was dirty, with stained sheets, dusts and unknown marks around the room. In the morning before check out there was silverfish in the bathroom. When checking in there was a large wait the hotel seemed to be managed by one poor worker. Did not try the bar/food so can not comment and was an easy walk to the airport.

Booked this due to proximity to airport. Hotel is in need of refurbishment. Room very dated and dark and not very clean. Sink plug hole was rusted. Didn't think carpet was very clean. Only 1 pillow and the bed was hard. Wouldn't book again and would taxi to a different hotel next time.

There’s a huge car park which is extremely busy. This is because of he hotel offer parking for your whole holiday for around £3.50 a day if you stay a night which is an absolute bargain and well worth doing.||I was passing through the area so it didn’t matter to me. The exterior of the hotel looks tired. It looks like a 70’s secondary school or office block. The theme continues inside with carpets older than your grandparents and woodwork from the Victorian era. ||That being said I did sleep relatively well despite the walls being made of paper. I would stay here again especially if I was flying from Newcastle the next morning to take advantage of the cheap parking.
