Very luxurious hotel fitted with golden bars and an unflushed toilet. To add to this, there was a five year old child under the flooring who looked rather malnourished, the food tasted like food and the bed was fitted in a quaint cardboard box.Great cigs to share around the room aswell which i found hidden in the shower cap

We stayed here for 1 night half way to our end destination. In hindsight staying in the car would have been more comfortable. ||||The room was basic which was expected with the low rate We paid. However I didn't expect the sub par cleanliness of the room. Floors sticky in the bathroom, carpet had all sorted matted into it and clearly not hoovered well if at all. Bedding wasn't clean. There was blood stains on the fitted sheets, what looked like dribble stains on tbe pillows and an awful stench throughout the hotel. ||||I appreciate that people may say you get what you pay for, however even with a low rate o would have expected a basic level of cleanliness. ||||We told reception about the dirty sheets and were advised the manager would be made aware and would call us. 2 days later and were still waiting to be contacted. ||||Overall a real shame. The building itself has potential and so do the rooms but an overhaul is needed.

We visited the hotel as part of a mystery tour which wasn’t expensive so we weren’t expecting anything spectacular but this certainly was a disappointment. The hotel looked like a prison from the outside and the interior wasn’t much better. The corridors and the bedroom smelt of stale cigarettes, especially in the bedroom. The beds weren’t what I’d call comfy but they weren’t horrendous, the pillows were the best part about the room ? the bathroom was functional but definitely not clean, strange marks on the sink and bath, and the floor was sticky, and could see handprints all over the tiles. The ventilation wasn’t great in the room but it was a 30 degree weekend so can’t blame that solely on the room. The food at the hotel wasn’t great. It was all cooked but very simple. You could tell the mushrooms on the breakfast were frozen and we were brought cold toast. The coffee machine was nice but that was about the highlight of our dining experience. The table had a huge sticky smear all over it which we asked to be wiped away and it was still there at breakfast the next morning. In the morning, there was some unsavoury characters drinking outside. All I can say is, i wouldn’t have stayed here for more than one night and I certainly wouldn’t stay there again.

I have to be totally honest, the room was filthy. Beds very uncomfortable. The only good thing was the breakfast that you paid extra for. I'm an easy to please person and hate to give a bad review, I generally only ever leave a good one. When I read other reviews giving higher stars I thought awww people giving bad reviews are just moaners so I booked. This is definitely a one or 0 star hotel. Absolutely filthy

Really lovely friendly, busy, helpful staff, reasonably priced rooms, the buffet dinner was good value simple food. The dessert range was good. The bar has a good range of reasonably priced drinks. The room was a little run down and a couple of things were broken like the toilet flush and the bathroom didn't lock. The floor was really squeaky and the windows didn't open so it was really warm, but there was a fan provided. Tea and coffee in the room. We were allowed to bring our drinks from the bar up. The bed was comfy. Didnt use the gym and pool but they looked nice. Good spacious free parking and in walking distance of other bars/pubs in Stockport. I liked the fancy old-fashioned lift.

This hotel is extremely tired! ||On entering the reception you might be lulled into a false sense of security as clearly this area has had a little TLC in recent years, however, as soon as you turn onto the corridors this sense of security is gone.||Carpets are vile, covered in stains, clearly more than a few drinks have been spilt and left to settle. Lift is a very old fashioned two pull door type and is tiny, not suitable for more than one person with a suitcase. Likewise, the stairs are narrow and no more than one person can move up or down at a time and extremely difficult to navigate your suitcase up or down. ||Time to enter the room…one word - dingy! Horrible brown carpet (to disguise stains no doubt) two single beds squeezed into a tiny room. Beds were ridiculously uncomfortable and one of the pillows had a blood stain, lovely. The room looked out onto the car park, which was fine, what wasn’t fine was the multiple cigarette burns on the net curtain, inside window sill and outside window sill - absolutely ridiculous!! ||I’d like to point out here that at no time during our three night stay did we encounter any housekeeping staff. This May account for the dirty plaster which remained on the hall carpet for those three days.||Bar prices were astronomical!! A bottle of bud costs £5, it was cheaper to drink on our day trip to Liverpool city centre!! Bar man was friendly though.||The bar and restaurant staff are about the only saving grace of this place - they were so very friendly and did everything they could for you with their limited options.||This place needs a complete overhaul, if not just a closure! Having heard reviews of other Britannia hotels it’s not overly surprising. Clearly the chain chooses to run their hotels into the ground and they have little concern for customer experience. ||I would not recommend the hotel and would certainly not visit again.

Although our room was small and our bed hard, this hotel was excellent value for money. The room was spotless, limitless tea supplied. Pleasant and helpful staff. The night porter was especially patient and helpful since our key card would not work. I'd stay again.

Was told correct information regarding evening meals. Did not offer any help to get the wheelchair ramp, nearly fell out of wheelchair, again no help was offered to get back up. Reception staff were anything but helpful. Bat staff and restaurant staff were brilliant. Food was average but edible. Room 7 seemed not to be of use in a while as room.smelt very musty had to have window open.all the time. This is my 3rd visit, but would only come back if it was the only hotel available.
