We stayed here on a bus trip and were very nervous after reading the reviews.|This hotel has just reopened and the 3 rooms which our party stayed in were spotlessly clean and had new bathrooms.|It’s a basic hotel .. but for what you are paying it’s good value for money.|The staff were all helpful and pleasant and the breakfast the next morning was fresh and plenty of it.|If you are looking for somewhere clean that’s not fancy with nice staff then I’d suggest you try it. You can see they are trying their best to turn things around.

This has got to rank as my worst ever stay. On arrival my booking was wrong but of course it was 'Not my area' according to receptionist. Room then had to be changed. New room had extractor fan outside which ran all night so very little sleep. Had booked breakfast, this was the final insult, 3 trays of obviously tinned fruits, 1 tray of watery yoghurt. Toast, cornflakes or Weetabix, both of which were stale. No juices and a coffee machine in desperate need of a good clean, not a napkin in sight and had to play hunt the cutlery!! And as for the wonderfully advertised cooked breakfast for which Inpaid £12, it simply did not exist!! All in all the best way to improve this property would be to close it and leave it to a company who wants to put the guest experience at its heart.

Nice enough room and location for a night. Our only issue was the heating. The radiator seemed to be set on a timer and we couldn't change the temperature so the room was either too hot or too cold

Complete shambles of a hotel staff are absolutely disgusting, and appalling behaviour, got kicked out of the hotel for things that other people where doing in there hotel, and need to remove all staff and replace them with staff that actually work, and don’t sit there moaning because of there job.. OR HOW COLD IT IS OUTSIDE!! Shower in my room trickled water out of it, and was really old inside the bathrooms.. dusty and dirty inside the rooms an just needed the right people to work there..

Was very surprised at this hotel room very clean we found the food was good better than I thought it would be after all the negative reviews would stay again only fault was our bedroom was very cold we mentioned it at reception unfortunately it wasn’t sorted quite a few people on our trip said the same only complaint if they sort that especially in winter it worth a stay

The worst hotel ever ,so very cold in room 7pm to 07.45 am after 07,45 am it started to get slightly warm ,went to bed THIS WAS A VERY FIRST TO BE in day clothes fully dressed under duvet with coat on top ----too cold to sleep /restaurant/reception COLD ==food tasteless and Luke warm for evening buffet and breakfast buffet Drink machines for coffee and fruit juice /watery tasteless soup failed to produce anything drinkable ,stayed in room 115 last night ,complained to reception about window left wide open when eventually got room with re-set key card to open door and was told that she would ask to have the heating to room turned on a little earlier as radiator valve did nothing and no room thermostat . HOTEL booked by Caledonia tours for AO Les Mis in Manchester and Liverpool weekend -----driver and bus not in pick up point Dutton Street for 5pm ,had to walk to find bus Ring road bridge half a mile away past Domino pizza shop ,after being told by another passenger ? where to find bus parked up on a dark night in Manchester on the road as his wife was picked up at the shops as she never went to the show (and then told by driver the hotel booked for us was in Wigan arrived at hotel 18.40 hrs ) .3 hours only in Liverpool today | FIRST AND LAST BOOKING WITH CALEDONIA TOURS ,NEVER EVER AGAIN

Time here was poor, service was terrible as been accused of smoking when am 39yrs of age.. and younger adults where staying on the same landing as us, and I actually seen them smoking outside the hotel, So as a result I was evicted from the hotel for no reason..
