Broadway Park Hotel - Sandown

I can understand the mixed reviews for this hotel but in general our stay was quite pleasant. There was plenty of parking every time we turned up in late October. The guy at reception was very friendly when we arrived and directed us to our room. One of the windows was left open and was difficult to close but I did eventually manage to, other than this the room was clean and tidy with a recently refurbished bathroom. The bed was comfy and there was coffee and a kettle for refreshments. The location of the hotel is also great for local access to Sandown and the train into further IOW. Value for money this hotel was spot on.

Lovely clean and bright family room looking out on to the lovely grounds and parkland. The beds were very comfortable, crisp, clean bedding and the bathroom and towels were the same. ||We needed somewhere dog friendly to stay for the night and it was perfect. The room was spacious, just £10 per night per dog which was very reasonable and they settled beautifully. ||5 minute walk on to Sandown seafront, would definitely stay again

The room looked good when we first entered. However the bedside lights would not work which we found that on moving the bed they were unplugged. Having plugged them in the circuit breaker needed to be reset. The buffet breakfast was chaos due to a lack of plates with soup dishes or small side plates being substituted. The plates were also cold. Cups for tea and coffee and glasses for juice also ran out. On one occasion they ran out of bacon with a wait of 20 minutes for it to be replenished. The choice of eggs was scrambled or nothing. The evening meals were ok having been ordered the night before. But on more than one occasion they were lukewarm at best.|On arrival at the hotel we noticed that the toilet was continually running with water which we reported on the Tuesday morning. On the Friday morning I reported it again as no attempt was made to fix it. On one afternoon we returned to find out our door had not been shut.|The grounds could do with some tidying up and some doors and door frames were grubby with finger marks.

I stayed at The BroadwayParkHotel in June (2024) and it was an awful experience. Upon arriving in my room, I was shocked to find the bed sheets stained with what appeared to be blood. This is completely unacceptable in any hotel, let alone one that claims to offer a decent standard of service.||To make matters worse, there was no one at the reception desk when I went to report the issue. I waited for an extended period with no assistance. Eventually, the bar manager had to double up as the receptionist, which seemed highly unprofessional. She was polite, but it was clear she was overwhelmed and not trained for this role.||I reported the issue to the hotel manager in the morning and was offered a full refund, which I have never received. The Booking.com and the Hotel both claimed that they cannot issue a refund. The Hotel manager claimed that the refund had to be authorised by the Booking.com, whilst the Booking.com claimed that the Hotel needs to approve the refund. Eventually, both, The Hotel and the Booking.com stopped responding to me. ||It's apparent that the hotel is severely understaffed and mismanaged. For the price I paid, I expected far better. I won’t be returning and would advise others to avoid this hotel until they can address their cleanliness and stuffing issues.

Good hotel, in a lovely park. Huge car park but sometimes very busy. Very kind and helpful staff, 24h reception. Nice restaurant, almost full English breakfast. Not far to the beach, close to Shanklin. Surely I’ll stay here again when on Isle of Wight. I recommend that hotel.

Fantastic! Beautiful Hotel and gardens. Lovely, clean, well presented room that was more than adequate. The gentleman on reception was flawless and very well presented and also extremely helpful. Breakfast was beautifully cooked, plentiful, with a full english, cereals, and croissants available. Juices were lovely and ice cold too. Faultless experience, we only wish we were staying for longer.

Lovely hotel, clean, lovely staff. The breakfast was lovely. Didn't have an evening meal. But this place is excellent value for money.

I think that some rooms had been renovated, but the others had not, ours was not too bad. The general state of the hotel in a state of decline but one could tell that in days gone bye it had been a wonderful building. The food was never as hot as it should have been, although there were 4 choices of starters, mains & deserts every day.|But we did see a Red Squirrel.
