The restaurant is very quiet on Thursday, so we enjoyed our time with nice food. No menu for kid but the staff offered bread for our baby.
The main courses did not bring a wow impression but we appreciate the very fresh ingredients. Our baby really loved the toast and pan-fried veg. He had great time crawling around without disturbing other guests.

I stayed here with a friend on 8th October for one night. I stayed in the “Dovecote” suite. Let me start by saying that this little gem of a hotel is perfection. The decor of the hotel is done to such a high standard and the reception area is very warm and welcoming. |Our room literally took my breath away. The freestanding copper bath was a real treat along with the little extra’s such as complimentary cake! The shower/bathroom again was decorated to a very high standard with luxury branded body washes etc. The real treat was the balcony and folding doors that open completely. |We ate our meal at the hotel and again, everything was just perfect! The staff were beyond helpful (especially Jess) who made sure our experience was seamless. The food was delicious and my friend even stated that the steak was the best he had ever eaten. It was a really intimate friendly experience. |Thank you for such a warm and welcoming stay and it really exceeded so many expectations and I cannot wait to return.

It was a fantastic stay. We have enjoyed our stay more than many big hotel have to offer even in big cities. Good location.|The staff was so lovely, polite and helpful. Rooms were beautiful and extremely clean. I cannot complete this review without mentioning that daily gesture of cake and delicious coffee was like the cherry on the top of our stay. |Thanks guys for a memorable stay.

Went for Sunday lunch, we had the sharing platter and it was amazing. The cheese fondu is a game changer. The meat and vegetables were cooked just the way I like them. The service was friendly and quick although not very busy. We did not stay in the hotel but from what I saw it looks lovely. The restaurant was clean as were the toilets, so if the rest of the rooms are finished to the same standard then I would love to stay.

What a super stay! My husband has mobility issues but the staff went above and beyond to ensure that his every need was met. We were delighted with Nightjar’s Rest, our easy access room with comfy beds and a large wet room. We enjoyed delicious meals, served by friendly staff. The hotel is spotlessly clean and bright, with quirky, high quality, original features. It is conveniently located near to parks and the university. I would highly recommend a stay here. Thank you!

We have had the most beautiful stay in this hotel. Everything from the cute and comfortable room, the reception staff, the housekeeping team and the chef's pastries was amazing. Alsolutely delighful experience! Loved our stay here. |Would highly recommend this place.

3.5 really. Not a 4 but 3 seems bit too low.

A bit underwhelmed, but still good. For special occasions, we are working our way around places that offer Tasting Menus. This one at The Brocco felt a bit lacking compared to others and didn't feel the best value for money. There were some great elements (such as the mini tartlets and poached pear slices), but some courses seemed below par (mushroom dish, the mushrooms went too cool too quickly as served in a cold dish and the parmesan cream was more whipped double cream than parmesan flavour). Also, the main course was a lovely slice of duck breast and jus, but that was it (at other places there's always been other elements even if just small amounts for texture). It was these little things that touch the edge of it being wow and just ok.

It also didn't help it was really quiet and lacked any atmosphere. There was one staff for bringing drinks and food, and he did a good job on keeping on top of the 3 tables that evening, but the delivery overall wasn't as experienced elsewhere (such as Stones, Cavendish, Lovage, etc).

I'm sure you'll have an enjoyable time here, but we'd all rank other places we've been higher if honest in terms of the tasting menu (and cost wise they are all comparable if compared against number of courses).

Loved the breakfast here, delicious eggs royale and very accommodating for gluten free! Great food and service, will definitely be returning for dinner - the small plates menu looks great!
