At Brook Farmhouse, 'neath Dartmoor's vast expanse,
We find sweet solace, eight times our hearts do dance.
Fair Penny greets with warmth, her hearth doth glow,
Whilst Paul doth lend his hand, their care doth show.

The morn begins with feasts, a banquet spread,
Soft linens cradle us where dreams are led.
The steaming bath restores our weary frame,
Whilst fire and radio softly play their game.

The hounds, so loyal, silent guardians near,
The woods at night, where owls sing clear.
Upon the Moors, 'tis solitude we keep,
A haven found, where souls may deeply sleep.

This sanctuary, wellness crowned so high,
Brook Farmhouse doth to heaven's peace ally.

My husband and I spent our anniversary at the farmhouse and we couldn't have chosen a better place. From start to finish Penny was so kind and nothing was too much trouble. On arrival she surprised us with a beautiful homemade strawberry gateau which she had made for our anniversary!! Our room was perfect and quite beautiful. Everything you could possibly want was there. Delicious breakfasts, again with everything you could possibly want. Fresh milk supplied daily in our room too. What a perfect host Penny is. Paul and Penny's home is wonderful and we spent two days in a very special place. We have already recommended this wonderful "piece of heaven" to friends and we shall be going back again ourselves.

We came to Brook Farm House on the recommendation of a friend. We had a very good feel about it before we arrived, as Penny had been so kind and helpful on the phone when we booked. After a long drive, the tea with homemade cake in our own special sitting room, was very welcome, then we were shown to our beautiful bedroom with its king size bed and an adjoining bath/shower room. All the windows looked over lovely views. The cooked breakfast was delicious and Penny and Paul were very helpful offering maps and guide books to help us on our daily trips. We felt most welcome and comfortable and it was hard to say goodbye.

Perfect B&B experience. Penny and Paul are charming, welcoming, unobtrusive hosts who make a phenomenal breakfast! The rooms are spotlessly clean and incredibly comfortable with everything one could possibly need. There’s a living room for guests with a roaring fire and occasional visits from Buddy, the soppiest Labrador you’ll ever find. Brook Farm exudes warmth, comfort and cosiness and is very reasonably priced given all the wonderful extra touches. Staying there was a joy!

Lovely hosts. Had a bit of trouble with the stairs, room small but comfortable. The cottage could do with a larger sign as we missed it twice and if you are not used to single country lane it will be difficult. Still an overall nice stay great breakfast.

Positive: The hosts were excellent and very welcoming, welcoming us with tea and cake upon our arrival. The cottage is very beautiful and charming. Penny was very helpful with giving us good recommendations, and booking us a table at one of best pubs for food and drink i've been to! The breakfast was really tasty and hearty, with fresh ingredients - the homemade apple juice is particularly nice! Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a cosy stay in the country!.

The quintessential English farmhouse set in stunning Devonshire countryside. Everything about Brook Farmhouse is authentic, lovingly presented and beautifully kept. From the open fireplace and homemade brownies we were welcomed with to the shortbread in our room and the amazing breakfast our whole stay was just perfect. Penny is a super friendly host and even dropped me off locally to collect my car!
The homemade apple juice and marmalade were the best we’ve tasted and the beds were incredibly comfortable.
My wife and I stayed with our three daughters for a wedding and Penny set an extra bed up in one of the rooms so that we could fit everyone in. We loved their beautiful dogs too 😊
Can’t fault it. We’ll be back.
