We visited following a review from a close friend who absolutely loved it and we can see why. Such a beautiful place, a serene setting with the most warmest of welcome with a basket full of yummy goodies. Loved our stay here and we are definitely returning. Super clean, warm and cosy. An absolute gem! It isn't far from the main tourist areas either. Id share more pics but they are a little personal. But honestly book and you wont regret it

We had a fantastic stay at Bugthorpe Grange Glamping. The hosts couldn’t have done more to make our stay enjoyable and they were always on hand to help. We are a family of four with a six month old baby and four year old.

The pod was finished to a high standard and had everything needed for a comfortable stay, including small double bed, a further small double with overhead single bunk, a kitchen with fridge, sink and electric hob and a wet room with shower and toilet. Towels, bedding, crockery and cutlery are all provided as well as items like tea, coffee and milk which really make you feel at home the minute you open the door.

Our baby is currently rolling around everywhere and the overall cleanliness and floor in the pod is immaculate.The extras and finishing touches demonstrated real care and attention which elevated this above other glamping sites.

The setting is amazing overlooking the Vale of York and it’s very secluded. The four pods are spaced out and felt very private.

We really enjoyed using the gas BBQ (small extra cost but definitely worth it) and fire pit, and we’d really recommend going with the BBQ meat package offered by Sue - everything was sourced locally and was absolutely delicious.

We couldn’t want for more and we can’t wait to come back another time and stay again!

The set up at Bugthorpe grange is simple yet so effective and one of our go to places to relax. As someone that struggles to relax and switch off this place helps my mental health so much, and can’t recommend enough.
The pods are very well maintained and you’d think they were brand new. The surrounding areas are well kept and plenty of grassy areas for the children to run around and let off some steam.
The decking outside the pods can be a good little sun trap. We visited in April and had some great weather.
The owners are so helpful and provide a great welcome hamper upon arrival.
This is our 3rd time visiting and will certainly be returning

Fantastic place. The pods are warm and cosy. Very inviting considering the wind and rain we experienced. Each pod, while of same construction, is unique with their own decoration and names.
The little touches where what really made the visit. A breakfast basket with local produce ( lovely fruit buns which were very nice toasted with local butter and jam ), flapjacks, butter, good Yorkshire tea and milk. There is even a coffee machine for those that may need an extra nudge in the morning, however with the beautiful views and surroundings why would you.

We loved our time at Bugthorpe Grange. The pods are immaculate and finished to a very high standard. There is nothing we would improve as everything has been thought of. Small touches like top of the range furnishings, towels, cutlery, comfortable beds, gas barbecue, a welcome hamper, little trolleys to help you unpack and move luggage to your car, herbs in pot plants, local ordnance survey map, book of birds - these pods are as good as it gets. The grounds are immaculate. It’s not just the pods the full experience was exceptional and I’m extraordinarily difficult to please. It’s clear how much thought, attention and personal pride has gone into trying to create the perfect family holiday experience. No pets are allowed which we were pleased about - although it doesn’t suit everyone it suits us perfectly and we were pleased the owners have decided to make it a pet free environment. We spent 4 days at Bugthorpe using it as a base to visit York, local sites and Flamingo land. It’s a perfect location to explore Yorkshire. We didn’t want to leave and this is one of the best short trips we’ve had as a family. Sue and her family were very kind and welcoming we would love to return in the future and we will be recommending Bugthorpe Grange to friends and family.

Thanks very much for a lovely stay. Great location near York but in the countryside. We were delighted by how tastefully it all is both inside and out. Lovely decor and a perfect veranda for sitting on to toast marshmallows in the fire pit. Really thoughtful guest box of local goodies as well as very well equipped with everything you might need. Sue is a wonderful obliging host - nothing seemed too much trouble. We definitely plan to stay here again. Many thanks

Fantastic little place. Very welcoming and a well equipped pod. Everything you need for a little break away. The hamper was a fantastic bonus. They decorated the pod with balloons and banners for my daughter’s birthday and the attention to detail was second to none! It’s a little home from home. We look forward to another stay but for longer this time so we can explore the wonderful surroundings. Thank you for an excellent staycation!

What a beautiful night away from everything. We had a very friendly greeting when we arrived then was shown the most beautiful decorated and super clean pod. So much thought has gone into these pods. A beautiful welcome basket with all the essentials and more. The garden was perfect for the children to run around in and very secure. We would definitely recommend staying here and will hopefully be staying again soon.
