The setting is lovely. The building is all history and rustic charm. The staff were lovely and warm. The food was fab.|Only very slight downside (and it’s really splitting hairs in all honesty) was that some of the environment needs a little bit of a refresh - peeling paint here and there, threadbare carpet on the stairs and a good few weeds in the courtyard. All very minor things but it really is these little touches that raise an establishment from okay/good to wow. It really wouldn’t take much to get the Bull to ‘wow’. To qualify this slightly, I know it’s a huge undertaking to keep these beautiful old buildings in a state of equanimity as it’s a real Forth Bridge scenario. But that’s it. Everything else was very good indeed.. |An exceptional mention: the young girl who ran the whole front of house breakfast service on the Saturday (21st September) was so kind and attentive. My wife spoke with her about an emotional challenge she was having that day (beloved pet involved!) and she was just so kind and understanding and just went that extra mile. She was definitely helped by the fact that the breakfast itself was absolutely top notch.|Genuinely can’t wait for our next visit!

We were on our way home after a very long drive and a very long day and we had our very old dog with us. It was late but we were made to feel so welcome. Rob who served us was so charming and helpful - and even offered our old pooch water and snacks. Food was great and arrived quickly. So grateful for having chanced upon this lovely place. Will definitely stop again soon. Thank you Rob !

This was my second time here. Love the atmosphere but the Sunday roast was disappointing. Service was great! Will go back again since i enjoyed their Scotch Egg. Probably will get a burger or fish and chips next time since that seems to be a better option.

We picked the wrong Sunday I think, as they had a group of 36 in. Staff struggling to cope by their own admission, and plates and glasses stacked up everywhere. Nothing against the staff who were working away, but we suffered as other customers. Is up to management to resource properly. No-one at the bar taking orders for long spells. Food was decent enough for price, but wasn’t relaxing and so we just paid and left. Couldn’t recommend.

We had a great time with fabulous food. The staff were all really friendly. Our three dogs were made very welcome. We dined in the courtyard which was fabulous! |I would highly recommend visiting this five hundred year old coaching inn with a 21st century twist!

Having driven past The Bull daily for work, I decided to book a table for my partner & I. The whole experience was 10/10. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and well set out. Food was excellent, service great and really good value for money. We will definitely be going again soon and would highly recommend it to anyone.

Booked as a family to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Waited for a while before anyone came to take our drinks order. Ordered our food as our drinks arrived but still had to wait a fairly long time for the food. After we had finished it must have been about half an hour before table was cleared ordered dessert again had to wait about half an hour for it and the 7 year old who was with us was getting very impatient!!!|Food was great but the service was really poor☹️☹️
