We cannot praise the staff at Burton Lodge enough. They were welcoming from the start and made us feel right at home. From accommodating us being vegan at breakfast (just let them know in advance, we had cereals, soya milk, vegan spreads and vegan sausages as options as well as fruits, jams etc) to being willing subjects for our four year old's new photography hobby, to rescuing us from the pool during a power cut (the whole village went down and they handled it perfectly) - they were just phenomenal. ||We really want to thank all at Burton Lodge for how at home they made us feel. Our little boy Joseph loved every minute of his stay and is desperate to come and stay here again. ||The rooms are exactly as they look in the pictures on their site (we stayed in room 2 but also saw room 7 as our son wanted to see the other family room and, as they were with everything else, the staff were accommodating in letting him go see it) so we can say both family rooms are as pictured. Room 2 is in the main building and it's slightly larger with a bath, room 7 is in the annexe and has its own entrance but is smaller and has a walk in shower - both family rooms are lovely so which is better depends on your preferences. ||The pool/spa is immaculate and because it is primarily done on a timeslot basis (email them times you want in advance) it was fantastic for us as we got to have the pool to ourselves on both occasions we used it. ||The lounge is very warm, comfortable and relaxing and has an honesty bar with reasonable prices as well as a lovely view out onto the gardens. ||We booked this stay slightly randomly, having never heard of this guest house or the village in which it resides. We just wanted somewhere peaceful to start the new year and decided it'd be nice to choose somewhere with a pool. This was one of a few options we narrowed it down to and we're so glad this was the one we ended up choosing. ||This is the happiest we've left any place we've stayed. We simply cannot recommend Burton Lodge highly enough.

What a little gem of a place this is , set in beautiful surroundings this place is such a relaxing place to go. Our room was done to high standard a mixture of old features with a modern twist. The king size bed was so comfortable, the shower was amazing. The tea/ coffee had everything you needed , breakfast was lovely set in a room overlooking some of the garden . All though we didn't go in the swimming pool or spa this is s fab addition to the guest house definitely go in next time . Amazing staff couldn't do enough for us , looking forward to our next visit.

We stayed in the Bothy lodge last night and I would highly recommend if you are looking for a little escape! We absolutely loved it, the hot tub was amazing and all staff we met were lovely and helpful. Especially the guy that checked us in (sorry we didn’t catch your name) but he showed us round and made sure we had somewhere to eat that evening. The little touches in the lodge just made it, the complimentary tea/coffee and refreshments in the mini fridge. Breakfast this morning was lovely, we chose our options upon arrival and this was ready for us exactly at the time we requested it for, in a very peaceful conservatory/dining area. ||My only criticism would be that the sofa in the room could do to be a tad comfier if you wanted somewhere to sit and relax in the room and the open gate maybe could have done to be a little more private when you are relaxing in the hot tub! ||But overall it was a fab stay and I will be recommending to friends and family. Little gem you’ve got there!

Beautifully clean, spacious and quiet rooms. All with ensuite and tea making facilities. Honesty bar in lounge was a useful addition and owners kindly came down with bottle of wine when we rang them as there was none left. The pool area and spa was enjoyed by my son and his girlfriend. It is situated in a very tranquil part of the village, near a golf course and walking distance to Bert's Pizzeria. Excellent facilities, highly recommend

Lovely place, room was nicely furnished and spacious. Breakfast was cooked to perfection and looked onto the lovely garden. Burton Lodge Guest House is a place to stay in which the owner (Ian) and his team (family) truly understand the word 'Guest' and also clearly understand that it is ALL ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE a guest is given. So many hotels and places to stay these days have lost that and struggle to meet expectations ... cleanliness, politeness, comfort.
The entire staff are polite, friendly, happy (properly and genuinely ... Happy) to help and make sure their guests like the guest house and everything about it.
If an emergency hospital theatre was suddenly needed locally, then Burton Lodge could be it ... no cleaning needed. It's so clean, you can almost see your face ... in the carpet! The place is spotless EVERYWHERE.
The 7 rooms are newly refurbished (probably not) but look like they have been. The views out onto the garden and golf course are resplendent.
The honesty-bar is a proper bar that you'd expect a bar-person to be stood behind!
Great location, easy access, plenty of parking.
And then, then there is the pool. It's been built with a great deal of love, care, attention to detail of quality and presumably, a lot of money. A spa, changing rooms, towels, poolside loungers. The best thing? Each guest can book the pool for an hour ... for their own individual, couple, family use. Yes exclusive use and ... there is no additional cost!
The breakfast is excellent, with a wide selection of options and Ian prepares each dish himself and does it very well.
Value for money does not describe this establishment. You will be made to feel like a part of the family, a friend, you will be welcome.
In our experience of staying in many hotles of all types around the world, this is one of th every best places to be. The guest-experience is what drives us to describe it this way.
Don't miss out, if you have a trip to York, Bridlington, Hull, Beverley, Driffield, Goole ... then travel that extra bit and stay here. If you are passing through en route somewhere else and need an overnight stop ... make it here.
Disappointment, is in the Burton Lodge dictionary, it doesn't happen here. If you see it, Say it. And they will sort it.

Only issue was we didn't stay longer ! Absolutely beautiful and peaceful place with clean and cosy room! The swimming pool and steam room was fantastic and modern! Breakfast was delicious! Definitely recommend coming for a weekend 👌

We have just stayed there for a couple of nights. It is a lovely guest house and the gentlemen working there was very polite, friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and they provided a cot too. The pool was lovely and we had it to ourselves twice. The location is quiet and peaceful but also close enough to drive to a number of attractions. A lovely place to stay.
