This pub is located at the perfect part of bury st Edmund’s. I came here with 20people and they were quick to accommodate us with perfect service and perfection. The food here is outstanding as it tastes fresh and made with love. I think out of all the pubs in this town it is underestimated and it would always be somewhere I constantly reccomended to family, friends or anyone who’s looking for a refreshing drink and amazing food !!!

Had dinner with the wife this evening, a busy pub and restaurant with a great selection of beers and spirits.
The food was promptly served and delicious with a good selection of dishes.
The staff were courteous and welcoming all in all a great evening and we’ll definitely be back.

Great room and great service! Quiz was also really fun and popular, although I felt pauses between questions were slightly too long, however we knew certain individuals kept asking questions / causing issues. Dawn in the morning was superb! Such great customer service, so warm and welcoming, lovely to chat too and very accommodating! Great asset to the business and indeed the company! Great work Dawn and thank you for looking after us so well! Even personal table service too! Felt very privileged! Thank you.

4 adults 2 toddlers 1 new born and the staff were so accommodating.

Even finding teeny tiny cutlery for the 2 kiddos. I went in expecting standard pub grub and left impressed with how well the pub nailed simple fayre. I had the pie, mash and mushy peas. The gravy was next level, the mash as near as damnit close to perfect as you can make it, I suspect much better was involved here..and the pie was superb and I believe locally sourced.

All other adult meals were well presented and received and no complaints from the kiddos.

I would have genuinely given this place 5 stars for its understated yet excellent execution but.... apparently there was no mint sauce. No mint sauce at a pub that regularly serves roast, I don't believe it, I can't believe it and I won't believe it.

Smiley welcome! I mentioned a new cider I saw called Tropical Lilleys and I was offered plenty information and a sample taste. Then was offered further information regarding newer lagers and ciders by the very friendly Eve and Danielle. Very interactive experience. Thoroughly recommended.

I regularly go to this pub, it has a lovely atmosphere, enjoyable food and efficient service. I attend the Pub Quiz every Wednesday and also spent an enjoyable NYE there. A stand out staff member is Sean Morris, who runs the place with military style efficiency.

First time here on a business overnight stop in Bury St Edmunds.
Excellent night's sleep 😴
All I look for in a night away is a decent shower, bed and food, oh and a decent bar!
Breakfast was very nice, staff all very good and above all polite.
I will definitely use this place again over the one I normally stay at in BSE.
Well worth checking in 😄

The food was much better than expected and would go again. Staff really friendly which makes a massive difference. Only downside is the price of the Greene king beers. Its brewed in bury, served in bury to bury people, can the brewery please give the people of bury a break ?
