Stayed at The Butterchurn Guest house as we were attending a family wedding at Le Petit Chateau nearby. Darren was an extremely welcoming and friendly host! Had a wonderful nights sleep in cosy, clean room. Can not fault the place or our host who served an amazing breakfast! Would highly recommend and will definitely return in the future to take advantage of the beautiful garden and close by walks. 10/10 ( ps eggs perfectly cooked!) xxx

Comfortable and spacious room, very clean, beautiful garden, delicious breakfast with a good selection, friendly host, on-site parking available. We stayed here to attend a wedding at Le Petit Chateau which is 30 seconds walk from Butterchurn Guest House.

Stayed at the Butterchurn Geust House over Xmas 2024, as we were visiting family, Checked in Xmas Eve and was met by the owner Darren who was extremely friendly and welcoming, showed us to our room, we had booked the Cheviot which is a junior suite. Absolutely fantastic very spacious 1 double bed and 2 singles but not cramped at all still plenty of space, spotlessly clean, super comfy beds, the bathroom is also amazing and probably the biggest shower cubicle I’ve seen. Breakfast is cooked fresh and tastes fantastic, plenty to choose from cereal, toast’s, croissants preserves yoghurts and of course plenty of cooked breakfast food. I cannot speak highly enough of this place it is definitely worth a visit if your thinking of staying in the area

Remote check in. Nice enough room. Breakfast was quick to the table. Make your own toast and cereals and drinks so at your own pace. Problem I experienced - some staff members kid sat at a breakfast table picking his nose and staring at me, whilst having a mobile device on full volume to keep the feral child occupied much to the horror of the rest of the guests - confirmed by the glances between each other. Then same kid while his carer/mum was (maybe) cleaning a room, tried to enter my room as I was in the shower. Lovely experience 😳. Kept ragging at the door handle. I could hear the staff member talking to him so no regards for my privacy. He didn't get in as I'd locked the door but at the time, my wife was packing our stuff in the van so was in and out. Keep the feral nose picking child under control for gods sake.

Very comfortable beds with nice bedlinen. Nicely lit, and well designed. Tea and coffee making facilities with proper milk in a little fridge in the lounge area. |Well run guesthouse, with delicious breakfast, presented with a smile. Highly recommended 👍

Fresh, clean and very well updated.|Booked a family room which had 1 double bed, and two singles, good quality furnishing, lovely clean fresh linen.|Bathroom, big walk in shower clean and new facilities.|Rooms warm and clean.|Downside, only two mugs for a family of 4, 3 teabags, think they forgot to top up the jars. Fresh milk available from a small fridge in the communal lounge.|Unable to self replenish with teabags as the breakfast room was locked at night.,|Unable to comment on breakfast as we had to leave at 7am to get a family member back home for work.

Room was very good but not having a mirror above the table made it awkward for my wife to do her makeup,the bathroom is quite small and the shower cubicle was tiny people of a larger size would have problems. The breakfast was very good the few staff we met were friendly and pleasant,on our stay just as we were getting ready the guest house ran out of hot water so we had to have a cold shower after waiting for a hour to to get problem sorted apparently someone had left a hot water tap running and gone out

We were only at the Butterchurn for one night, but they were super welcoming to us and even made our room ready way before check-in, which was good news for us because it meant we got to have a nap before we went to our friend's wedding. No complaints from us!
