When a venue changes owner, I'm always apprehensive as to whether our favourite go to place would have changed. I'm pleased to say that is still our favourite go to place. The new owners Joanne and Steve are a really nice friendly couple and the accomodation spotless. The fishing ponds are well looked after as are the surrounding grounds, all adds to the fishing pleasure.
We will be back.

We stayed this week at butterwood lodges lakes for fishing it was absolutely fantastic everyday fished and wasn't disappointed. The cottage was first class as we arrived a loverly warm welcome from joanne who showed us where to go and went over information on what we needed to know we booked pet friendly cottage patio at front and back we used the patio at back as the garden was at the edge of the lakes fully equipped kitchen also a village about 2 mile if you wanted to eat out.we will definitely go back

Stayed here twice now and really enjoyed it. Steve and Jo are great hosts, the rooms are fantastic and the location is lovely.

What a wonderful place! When I come here it feels like coming home. The cottages are gorgeous and homely. The welcome hamper is magnificent!
Thank you to Annette and Ian for making us feel so welcome.
The fishing is amazing too.
I would recommend this place to anyone!

You have to be wary about five star reviews because there's always something to dislike. Here we found the wine glasses a bit small and there wasn't a towel rail in the bathroom but that's being really picky and would knock a corner off a star. After that it was brilliant.|The owners couldn't do enough for us. A generous welcome pack, spotlessly clean with quality furniture.|The dog loved it with with a large, enclosed area and a five star kennel, complete with sofa, fairy lights and TV.|Large well kept grounds with a few quirky touches and the fishing's a bite a chuck with lots of double figure carp - the lodges have their own exclusive pegs but lots of other pegs are available.|No hesitation in recommending Butterswood Lodge, we'll be back!|

Brilliant cottages set in beautiful surroundings and immaculately kept. It is so peaceful and the owners Ian & Annette can not do enough for you. You get a welcome pack with a bottle of prosecco, two bottle of beer, loaf of bread, butter, coffee, tea, sugar, tomato ketchup, salad dressing and various other items. The cottages are exceptionally clean and there are plenty of towels provided for everyone. We stayed in Willow Cottage which has two large extremely comfortable sofas in the lounge area with a coffee table and large smart T.V, there is a lovely large fireplace surround with a remote electric fire. There is also a large wall mounted smart T.V. in both of the bedrooms. The kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliance's, pots, pans, cutlery, plates etc, there is a table & 4 chairs in the dinning area. Outside to the side of the cottage there is a large private courtyard with a table & 4 chairs plus private parking large enough for 3 cars. You gain excess to the lakes at the front of the cottage via two large patio doors which open onto your own private large patio area which has a very large table with 4 chairs and a large umbrella, there is also a large 3 seater swing chair. straight in front of you is the largest of the 3 lakes on the complex where you have your own private private fishing areas. there is a large decked fishing area in front of the cottages, large enough for 3 people fishing, then you have another 5 large private pegs to the right hand side of the lake. You also have unlimited access to the other lakes and you can fish from dawn until dusk. (Night fishing is not allowed) All 3 lakes are extremely well stocked with Roach, Tench, Perch, babel and Carp up to 22lb. There is also a Brand new toilet block on site with a bait shop. This is the second time we have stayed here, Last time we were in Oak cottage which was just as nice as willow Cottage. I can not recommend this place highly enough and at the price it is the best value for money we have ever had. A massive Thank you to the owners Ian & Annette for once again making our stay as enjoyable as the last time. We will definitely be back again 🙂

Unbelievable. An absolute hidden gem. A warm welcome, amazing spotless facilities, comfortable, view to die for. Reasonably priced, never mind free biscuits, the welcome hamper was absolutely 5*London hotel treatment. Awesome fishing, an absolute oasis of tranquility and countryside perfection. Will definitely be coming again.
