Very satisfying meal

A lovely little place with a relaxed atmosphere.
Really pleasant staff too.

Sadly they didn't have pulled pork for the burger I planned to have. They also didn't have any fried chicken which wasn't what I wanted but I'd like to have that in the future so I hope it's a rare occurrence.

Because the food we had was great. I ended up with the pulled chicken burger. A good heap of juicy roast chicken atop 2 nicely cooked smashed beef patties. A tad more garlic mayo would have been good but it added plenty of flavour without overpowering the meats. The bun was toasted a bit too long but due to the meat being so juicy it didn't become too dry.
It was a very enjoyable burger but I wouldn't have it again in a hurry. Mostly because I like trying different ones though.

The portion of sweet potato fries was big and they were perfectly crisp.
My partners cheese loaded fries went down well too and were also plentiful.

Definitely somewhere I'd recommend and hope to return to myself to try a different burger offering. Might ring ahead to make sure they're stocked up though!

Absolute gem of a place! Lovely staff and service. The three of us all enjoyed our meals and I've got to say that was the best burger I've ever had !!! Will definitely be visiting again, would highly recommend this place for anyone thinking of going, well worth a visit you won't be disappointed 👍👍👍

What a great little hidden cafe. Really cheerful service. Lovely roast veg panini and fresh orange juice. Ate it rather than photographed it ☺️
I called in needing a space to do some work between appointments and was really glad I did.
Definitely going to go back and try their breakfasts!

Wow, a little hidden gem in Swallwell. I would definitely recommend it. The place is lovely inside. The staff very kind and friendly. The menu is very reasonably priced and the food and portion size excellent. My daughter had the cheesy chips and she said they were like heaven. I will definitely be making it a regular place to visit and highly recommended 👍👍👍

What a lovely cafè , friendly welcoming staff, nothing too much trouble, great menu & prices, food was delicious. We would definitely come back and also recommend to everyone. Only negative is needs a bigger/ brighter sign to let everyone know where they are, as nothing at the street to say what is there. We were visiting a friend ( a local) and she recommended Cafè Carmela to us.

Stumbled upon this place a few weeks ago. Was drawn in when passing, on its open day morning by a live band and lots of people in its large outdoor seating area.
We both had a full English breakfast and the 2 kids had scrambled eggs on toast.The food and coffee was great and the cafe its self was really nice. As myself and the family are always looking for new places to eat out we will definitely be back. I believe they offer a lunch and evening meal menu as well.

A fabulous Cafe located in Swalwell. The cheese scones were delicious, served warm with butter. Very pretty inside with lots of twinkling fairy lights in the ceiling. Lovely atmosphere and staff. Highly recommend it and we will be back
