Cafe in the Park is the kind of spot that feels like a warm hug in café form. So cozy, so inviting—you almost forget you're not in your own living room (just with much better snacks).
I kicked things off with an iced coffee, which hit the perfect chill note, and paired it with a salted caramel cake that was basically dessert therapy. Rich, sweet, and just the right amount of salty sass.
Then came the tomato soup, served with bread and butter—simple, classic, and done oh-so-right. The quality? Absolutely on point. I left full, happy, and planning my next visit.
This is definitely the kind of place you accidentally spend hours in.

Tranquil location inside the park. Friendly staff, comfy and clean. Outside seating if the sun is out. I can recommend the bread pudding, try it warmed up. Great value.

Quiet setting with sunny patio and leafy shaded tables. Lovely staff, so helpful and accommodating. We only had tea and toast but the bread was thick granary, really tasty and all for under £7! Thank you, next time maybe we'll try some of the amazing looking home made cakes on offer!

Came here from Google reviews. Love the social concept of the cafe. Located in a nice park. Food was very average though and did not satisfy my hunger.

This is now my favourite place in town. Cannot believe I hadn't discovered it sooner. It's a very cute cafe with amazing outside seating in the park - especially nice on a warm day. It has plenty of vegan options including vegan English breakfast. In terms of desserts, there is one cake that is vegan, please consider making more options 🙂 the lemon cake was absolutely delicious. I will for sure come back to try out the rest of the vegan food and to enjoy the space. The service and atmosphere was great. And the latte (with oat milk) was the best I've had.

My new lunch stop, sensational stilton and broccoli soup and plethora of cakes to choose from. Apologies, as I finished the soup so quickly I forgot to take the photo before I started. We also had tea, homemade Viennese swirl and ginger/ honey cake.

Brilliant little cafe. Staff were so lovely and friendly.

Food was delicious. We had the mega breakfast, fish finger sandwich, lemon cake and home-made bread pudding. All amazing and fantastic value. Everything was perfect.

During a 5 day holiday we came here 3 times.....staying at the local travelodge, this became our go to for brunch/ late breakfast. A proper cute cafe, with outside options if the weather allowed.
