Had afternoon tea on a Saturday. We were the only people in the restaurant. The hotel was completely deserted so no atmosphere at all. It wasn't overly warm either. The afternoon tea despite being nice was on the small side. The sandwiches, sausage roll and cheese straw were nice and very tasty although it wasn't a whole sausage roll. We only got one scone each which was VERY small. The cakes were tiny and by the time we got home we were hungry again. We ordered earl grey tea and asked for some milk to come with this which didn't arrive and we then had to chase this up. For £25 I felt this was not value for money. I have had other afternoon teas which cost less and with more food. Possibly trying to be too fancy. The tasting restaurant only had 4 people in so the staff far outnumbered the customers. We won't be hurrying back. The decor is nice and I liked the music being played where we were sat but the whole experience needs fine tuning. I think offering savoury and fruit scones would help, and make sure there is a little more food for £25 charge.

What can I say , everything was first class from the beginning to the end, Nick looked after us like royalty, his attention to detail was sublime, greeting us, and showing all the hall and all it's beautiful surroundings. Was such a pleasure meeting the chefs as well, so impressed we booked Sunday lunch, and valentine's dinner before we left. can't wait to go back, and this is a venue with food to match that will blow your mind. A michelin star is worthy of this truly spectacular place .

I stayed for four weeks for work and found the staff delightful and extremely helpful. They went above and beyond. On the down side the beautiful Georgian building had been decorated by Barbie and needed a fresh lick of paint. The lovely staff Ashley, Michelle and others made it one of the nicest hotels I had ever stayed in.

We went with friends and had the taster menu. The food was excellent. I said to my friends pre meal that I hadn't been wowed by food for quite a while. By the end of the meal I was definitely wowed. Outstanding food and service. I would highly recommend

Came for Sunday lunch and we were not disappointed. Firstly, a huge thank you to the staff who made us feel very welcome and were friendly and attentive throughout. The meal was delicious, in fact, one of the best Sunday lunches I've had in a while.

I recently stayed at Caistor Hall Hotel, and unfortunately, it was an incredibly disappointing experience from start to finish.

First, the so-called “deluxe” room we were assigned was anything but deluxe. The room was dusty, fixtures were falling off the walls, and the bed creaked loudly with even the slightest movement. The walls were marked, giving the entire space a feeling of neglect. After raising these concerns with the staff, we were offered an upgrade to their “best” room, the Dashwood Suite. While this room was in better condition, it still failed to meet the standard one would expect, particularly given the price and expectations associated with staying at this hotel.

On top of the room issues, the service was just as poor. When we requested assistance with booking a taxi, we were told to handle it ourselves because the staff were “too busy.” Later, it was explained to us that this is a policy, but it was never communicated to us during our stay, adding to the frustration.

Although some of the staff tried to address our concerns, the management’s attitude was dismissive and unprofessional. When I followed up via email, I was met with a defensive response that ignored many of the core issues, including the substandard room conditions and lack of communication.

All in all, I would not recommend staying at Caistor Hall Hotel. The poor quality of both the facilities and the service, coupled with a lack of accountability from management, left us with a very negative impression.

Booked 2 nights as a little get away for my birthday to explore some of Norfolk.
We had the garden suite, which had a nice view. Very clean too.

The staff where fantastic and polite. Food was good. Just a really lovely stay.

We recently visited for a special birthday meal. We arrived early and had drinks on the beautiful terrace. We then headed into The Rose Room they had kindly given us as a private dining room as we were quite a large group. It was an absolutely gorgeous room, and perfect for the meal (as the children could roam around a little without us having to worry), it was also really lovely and light with the large window in there.

The service was spot on (as it always is), but the food... WOW! We had the two course Sunday lunch menu, and the pork was just delicious as was the white chocolate cheesecake. Everyone said they'd had such a wonderful meal.

We then headed back out onto the terrace where the children ran around on the lawns, we sat and chatted and had a few more glasses of lovely wine.

Honestly, we couldn't have had a better experience, nothing was too much trouble and it was a truly special meal! We're now planning on when we can come back...
