I'll start by saying that I would return here; it is fairly priced and the staff are friendly and helpful - we had run out of logs for the fire and the staff dropped another bag down to us (cashless payment too) quite late. The general area is nice and scenic, there are plenty of walking paths about, and the lack of children about keeps it all fairly quiet.
However, the site advertise as being very quiet, which it wasn't at night time due to the local pub (not the sites fault).
There is also a hornets nest nearby, as during our single night stay we were bothered by 6 big F*****s over an inch long, making relaxing a bit difficult.
The lack of proper flushing toilets wasn't a big issue for us as we only stayed the one night, but I can imagine that it would become annoying if staying longer.

Overall, our stay was good, but not great,

Liked: This campsite exceeded our expectations in every way. It is impeccably clean and superbly organized, and we particularly enjoyed the presence of picnic benches. The generous amount of space allotted for each tent creates a wonderful sense of privacy and isolation as if you have the entire campsite to yourself.
As a group of mature campers, four of us who relish the experience of wild camping, this site proved to be an ideal match for our needs. We greatly appreciated the pet-friendly policy, the option for off-ground fires and BBQs, and the strict no loud music rule after 10:30 p.m. This campsite checked all the right boxes for us, and we were delighted to find that it lived up to its promises.
The individuals overseeing the campsite were exceptionally friendly, engaging, and attentive, ensuring that our stay was as enjoyable as possible. Despite my initial reservations about compost toilets, our stay at Campfire Weekends showed me that when maintained properly, they are not a hassle at all. The toilet facilities were consistently clean, and they provided all the necessary supplies to keep them sanitized. Additionally, the toilets were cleaned three times a day, eliminating any concerns I had. Needless to say, I didn't need to rely on my own disinfectant wipes. Thank you for a fantastic experience!

Disliked: There was nothing to dislike

I rated the rooms as 3 stars... obviously, you don't have a room, but in terms of private spaced out areas to camp, I would give it a 3.
It's a large field, but due to long grass in the middle, camping is only around the outside out of the field, with the corners being the best part, they are occupied very early on in the day. You aren't camping next to someone, but I had the impression you had a more private area.

It's advertised as quite camping, but unfortunately, there are planes flying to Gatwick overhead at 5,000 ft from the ground every 20 minutes or so.
There is also a pub locally, and at night with sound travelling so well, you can hear the punters singing ABBA from the furthest point of the field. But the guests are quite and respectful.

The staff were incredible, we needed more fire wood around 9pm, so had texted the number provided and they delivered it to our tent, with a card machine ready, so I would rate the service 5 stars.

I would visit here again for a local cheap place to camp but overall couldn't give it a 5 star experience.

Liked: Lovely big site with lots of space between pitches. Had to choose your spot well though as a lot of slope. Compost toilet well cared for and young staff came round regularly and made sure all emptied and clean. Lots to see and do in the area. Recommend food at Lazy Fox and breakfast in Garden Centre at Mark Cross.

Disliked: A bit of a hike if you wanted to visit a pub or eat out. The noise from the planes landing and taking off from Gatwick. Woke me up every morning as sounded like they were landing in the field. Shame as otherwise very peaceful, well managed site.

Liked: A picturesque location, lots of space with few tents so for the most part it was very peaceful. BBQ and logs were great value.

There's a very nice cafe called Deer Park Cafe a few minutes drive away which was fantastic.

Disliked: Out of about 15 tents, 1 pitch didn't observe the rules, the rules ask for cars not to be parked by the tents to reduce risk of fire from the campfires but they kept thier car there for the duration, there is also a rule asking for no amplified music but they were playing music and being quite loud in the evening.

They only settled down when their neighbours came back and asked them to be quiet, but the noise carried across the campsite, the site is over 21s only so we booked it for some peace and quiet so not ideal.

The site is unmanned but perhaps a staff patrol every couple of hours would help.

Loved the simplicity of this campsite. The owners bent over backwards to make sure we had what we needed. Peaceful and simple. Perfect for a stopover on our two-day hike 👍🤩

A really chill little place to camp and hang out with friends or family. It's basically a big field that the owners rent space on. Logs and a compost toilet are available. Would happily go again.

Liked: Not too many people so there was plenty of space.

Disliked: Paid for logs and BBQ which was meant to be there for upon arrival for 5-6pm. Which ended up being a waste of time.
The owners were coming back from a family holiday. They said that they had suffered delays so they didn’t arrive back and pass us the bbq and logs to cook some dinner on until 9:15pm. At which point it was just late.
Grass was also kinda long to camp on.
