We had a wonderful stay at the Captains Club! |We were on our ‘minimoon’ and they very kindly upgraded us to a suite which was amazing. |All the staff were lovely, Jane on reception was welcoming and helpful, and the staff at breakfast were attentive and friendly. |The room had everything we needed, and the views were super. |Breakfast was perfect, a good selection from yoghurt and fruit to cereal and then a choice of hot. |We also popped to the spa, which was small but nice we could use it included in our stay. |We would definitely recommend and would love to go back!

First visit to this location, we had a lovely afternoon tea. Great location with a view of river. Staff were fabulous and very friendly. Only slight gripe was there was no soya alternative for my coffee,only oat milk which makes coffee taste like poridge( in my opinion) and at £25 a head thought there should be a few dairy alternatives. However it was a lovely afternoon tea and I would definitely recommend.

Ordered fries it has taken 25 minutes to arrive once arrived it was nothing but burned ? awful !!
Nice staff but cannot be said for the cleanness of the place. It wasn't !
The place wasn't even busy less than 10 people within the bar/ restaurant area what can I say " I was disappointed " .

Disappointed today. The reason was due to bad customer service. Myself and my family are happy, polite people but were just met this Sunday morning with surprisingly awful customer service! We arrived at 10am hoping for coffee and cake, but there was no choice for me, being gluten free. Not even an alternative offered like toast?! Surely something that someone who has to eat gluten free can eat?! What about guests who stay there? Our server was completely unbothered about suggesting any options for any of us, even those who are able to eat normally and in the end after our coffees we walked into Christchurch to get something to eat, and we probably would have stayed at Captain’s club for lunch if we weren’t so fed up with the service! We had to chase everything that was ordered as it just did not arrive. Crazy?! And it wasn’t even busy. Beautiful setting, and lovely interior, sadly let down but awful customer service and lack of anything to eat or options offered?

Had a wonderful 7-day stay for my birthday with my family including my 24 yr semi-verbal autistic son at the Captain's Club.||||The rooms were spacious, lovely, well-crafted decor. The river and harbour views - well, that's what we were there for.||||Staff were absolutely great and really helpful from arrival to leaving. I could name names, but you all know who you are, you made our stay and my birthday so special.||||The spa and pool is so relaxing, albeit a bit small for 'proper' swimmers. Even, my son was happy to stay in pool, just the right temperature, and kept escaping to look at the pool.||||Christchurch, itself is a nice town, the Castle ruins, Priory and the harbour. Lots of great places to eat.||||It's a great tourist base, for lots of beaches and viewing expensive beach huts. We enjoyed lots of walking and the views. We went to Swanage by ferry and saw Corfe Castle.||||Thank you to all of you who made this family, plus supporting friend so welcome. We shall return, to keep you on your toes.

Maisie was a lovely waitress who was full of smiles, checking information regarding our dietary requirements and did her upmost to ensure we had a lovely birthday meal for my 79 year old mother. ||We'd been booked in the restaurant, but due to very full covers, we'd been moved to table 12 - a lovely table window in the lounge by Harry, who very kindly explained the reasoning. We were very happily situated there and felt very looked after.||The smoked salmon linguine was enormous and to die for, as was the chicken liver parfait for starters. We were far too full for desert!||My one criticism would be that the young gentleman waiter who brought our food out routinely missed my daughter, aged 14, out. She had to sit there both times for 5 minutes after all other food had been brought out, and we had to chase both her starter and main course up. Consequently, I deducted the service charge of £21 and gave our tip directly to Maisie, who was amazing!||Maisie is a real credit to the staff and, as locals and regulars, we are well acquainted with many of the staff there. So she deserves a review here for her excellent service!

I took 3 girlfriends for lunch and we all ordered different dishes. All four starters and main courses were fabulous!! We were very well looked after and we can't wait to comeback again. Would definitely recommend!! My only criticism is, your Champagne is very expensive!!!

This is how a hotel should be, great accommodation, happy staff, excellent menus and fabulous location.|It’s the staff that make this a truly excellent experience, nothing too much trouble, very approachable and all smiling and happy to be there, unfortunately this is a rare occurrence at many hotels even highly starred ones. Special shout out to Matt who runs the bar with effortless ease. Cannot praise this hotel enough and thoroughly recommend you book you won’t be disappointed |.
