If you are looking for somewhere to stay for a night or two or as a base for visiting the area, then Carents House is the place to go. A fabulous little jewel with a very welcoming host, Diane. The breakfast is just amazing. The premises even has a balcony to enjoy a drink on, weather permitting.|I would not hesitate to recommend Carents, it has all that you need for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Diane welcomed us and showed us upstairs to the apartment which is absolutely lovely with a very homely feel. She was kind enough to assist with the cases as my husband has mobility issues. We immediately felt at ease and Diane is happy to answer any questions.||Everything you could need is provided and more, we had had a gruelling journey and as cup-a-soups were available and we had our own snacks we were able to relax the first evening on the balcony and in the comfy living area. The views of the garden and to the church and churchyard are delightful, as is watching the chickens, who provide the eggs for breakfast.||We slept well in the very comfortable king-sized bed. The en-suite is small but adequate and plenty of toiletries are provided. The shower is good and the towels were lovely large and fluffy.||Diane brings breakfast up to you, which was another bonus. You have a great choice from a menu each morning. Plenty of fruit juice, tea/coffee, cereal or yogurt, freshly cooked delicious full English breakfast.||We thoroughly relaxed here, enjoying walking around the village and eating at both local pubs. Montecute House and its grounds are a must see.||We most definitely hope to return here.

Absolutely a lovely place to stay. Diane was an excellent host. Nothing was too much. ||Breakfast was really tasty and filling, you could not want for more. The accommodation very clean and as it is like a self contained flat with all the mod cons in there for you. A great choice for anyone going to that area whatever the season.

Our second stay at this wonderful B&B, and we enjoyed every minute. Spacious, clean, cosy, stunning location, and you couldn't ask for a lovlier host than Diana. Wonderful breakfast options, and a big comfy bed. A home away from home. You can bet we'll be back again!

Absolutely lovely place to stay, it isn’t a B&B room, it’s a home from home! You have a living room,a kitchen, a bedroom and en-suite and a veranda with lovely views. Diana our host is lovely and friendly and turns up with a lovely breakfast in the morning.

It may be B&B, but you don't get a room - you get an apartment ! Yes, it's a Granny Flat and included in the price is the most enormous breakfast imaginable. The property is charming with a lovely view from the sitting / dining room across the garden to the village church and hills beyond. Montacute is an attractive village built of honey coloured stone and surrounded by National Trust houses and gardens. The apartment is comfortable and spotless and everything you could need is provided by a very kind and thoughtful landlady. We can't praise this place enough. One in a million. Two pubs in the village provide superb meals at a very reasonable price.

A planned week travelling through UK saw us staying for one night at Carents House so we could visit Montacute House. What a special find this place is - you get a complete cosy apartment to yourselves with no other guests. The bed is huge and so comfy. You book the time you;d like your breakfast on the previous evening and then it is freshly made and delivered on a breakfast tray to your private lounge area for you and it was delicious. As regards it's proximity to Montacute House, it literally is just across the road - say 30-40 steps away from the entrance. The village of Montacute itself is small but pretty and there seemed to be several public footpaths around to walk up into the hills. Would not hesitate to recomment Carents House and will definitely stay again if we are ever in the area.

Me and my partner stayed at Carents House after spending the day at West Bay.||On arriving we met the owner Diane who was very friendly and showed us to our room which was basically a apartment and a veranda it was fabulous with Diane saying if we need anything to just ask we couldn't ask for more.||Breakfast in the morning was beautiful very filling (large selection) and tasted perfect all ingredients sourced locally . Our stay at Clarents House was first class and we would definitely return and recommend thankyou Diane for such a nice stay.
