Carpark, round the back of the hotel. Awkward to get to and pricey. One way system down an alley. ||Entrance, nice enough, staff were friendly, easy to check in, there is a bar (didn’t utilise the bar) also offered to add on breakfast. Offered plates and cutlery if we wanted to order takeaway food. ||Bedroom, clean on arrival, window was awkward to close, had to call reception to help close the window, wanted to close window due to noise of Wetherspoons next to hotel, was quite noisy (weekend) window was also rattling with the wind. Bed was fairly comfy, pillows were fine, double bed quite large (two singles joined so gap in middle) bedroom light was a bit flickery, tv has free view but is not a smart tv. Kettle in room but no fridge. Hairdryer provided. Door card stopped working second day and had to get reception to reset the card and let us into building in the evening. ||Bathroom, smashed window, staff member came to see the window and stated there was nothing he could do and offered no help whatsoever, shower head was low, can’t be adjusted, so felt like buddy the elf while showering (5’7) bath with shower not a cubicle. Cold tap on sink wouldn’t turn. Bathroom was clean otherwise. Hand soap, body wash and shampoo were provided. ||Things nearby, costa right next door, Wetherspoons a two minute walk but hotel looks onto outdoor beer garden, train station (trains weren’t noisy at night) other food places within walking distance.

Fantastic location and staff friendly, helpful and professional. The communal area of the hotel are lovely. They are clean, spacious and well presented. The location is fantastic for train travellers and any one looking to be near to the centre.
Unfortunately the rooms and toilets in the reception/bar area let the hotel down. The room furniture is dated and in poor condition. The baths do not match the wash hand basin and WC. The cleaning of our room wasn't the best. We paid for an upgrade that certainly didn't match the photos on booking site and was way below expectations. However, the lady on reception and duty manager rectified some of our issues straight away. We were lucky with our room as wasn't too noisy at night be aware some rooms over look a pub garden (not connected to hotel) and they suffer from noise until the early hours at weekends. If your preference is location and friendly staff then book this hotel. Looking for room comfort do your research.

I booked a single room at The Station Hotel for one night during a recent visit to Carlisle.||The location is excellent. You step out of the train station and you’re there, which was very welcome as the weather was terrible. It’s less than five minutes walk into the City Centre. Plenty of bars and restaurants close by and a very handy Wetherspoons round the corner for cheap and cheerful grub.||My room was on the third floor. There is a lift available for your luggage. It was nicely decorated and surprisingly quiet given its proximity to the station platform. Everything was in working order and towels, toiletries and tea and coffee were provided which was also nice. It was super clean and the shower was great!!||I slept great and the bed was very comfortable.||I found the hotel to be great value for money and I’d definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone travelling in the area needing somewhere central to stay.

This is a great location and a reasonable rate. Staff are very friendly and helpful. ||The hotel is very clean and the rooms I have stayed in have been quite big.||As I mentioned, the location right next the the train station is great, but does come with drawbacks of noise and the times I've stayed here, there's often drunk men hanging around the entrance to the hotel, smoking which rightly or wrongly may set the wrong tone.||Unfortunately, the hotel doesn't serve evening meals, which I have been told by staff they are planning to introduce, but has not happened; breakfast is very good.||Rooms are a good size but very, very dated with dark laminate furniture and the bathrooms need updating as well.||All in all, it's okay. With a bit of updating and if they started to serve evening meals it would be a much better experience.

Decent enough for the price. The location is fantastic, NCP right behind it too. The room was nice enough, but the bathroom needs updating. Our room also overlooked a bar which was noisy at night & in the morning for cleanup too. £15 fee for the dog seemed steep too.

Comfy clean bed nice view from 3rd floor helpful staff but that's where it ends
The place is like Beirut on a weekend the noise from people in the pubs and waiting for taxis over the road until 5am shouting screaming police sirens you can't have the window open because of this even though it's extremely hot!! Bathroom suite very poor white sink but beige bath and toilet, broken blind £12 night parking groups of males checking in carrying bottles of alcohol they were drinking. breakfast was adequate and then there was the fire alarm going off at 9am
Wouldn't return!!!
Certainly don't feel rested either

The Carlisle Station Hotel is an older property next to the railway station. I stayed two-nights when walking part of Hadrian's Wall. The hotel was in a perfect location for exploring the area. Here is my 4IAB review:||How were your hosts?||All the hotel staff I met were very pleasant and helpful. I was able to leave luggage at the hotel before check-in as I arrived early. This enabled me to sight-see for a few hours.||How were the facilities?||I stayed in a double bed room which was comfortable. The bathroom was dated (1980s) but everything worked. Coffee and tea making was available in the room, as well as a TV. ||I opted not to have my room cleaned and received a complementary drink from the bar as a reward. Cleaning staff did check to see if I needed anything when they were doing their morning rounds.||How clean was the Carlisle Station Hotel?||I found the hotel to be very clean. Bed linen and towels were spotless. Carpets clean but a little worn in places. Some paintwork in my room was a bit chipped but overall I had no complaints.||Food hygiene, bar and dining areas were very good.||How did you sleep?||I had an excellent nights sleep each evening. You do hear announcements from the railway station but they stop through the night. My fellow travellers made no noise in the hotel. No AC but with the window open, my room was cool.||Bed very comfortable.||How was breakfast?||Breakfast is the usual hotel buffet type. A selection of hot and cold items. Plenty to fill you up. The chef kept an eye on the hot food buffet to make sure things were topped up.||For the money - I felt it was okay. ||Would you stay here again?||Yes - I felt the hotel provided value for money and was very comfortable. Plus the great location.
