We had a lovely stay at Carr House Farm. The rooms were quiet and had everything that we needed: fridge, toaster, microwave, kettle and crockery. The bathroom had plenty of good hot water!|The beds were super comfy: we slept so well and came away well rested. Higly recommend if you want a proper country break.

We had a wonderful stay at Carr farmhouse. Anna was fantastic, very friendly, kind and generous. We were looked after very well and were sad to leave. The room we stayed in was beautiful as were the surroundings. The location is perfect for visiting many extraordinary places like Ampleforth Abbey, Byland Abbey, Thirsk, Kilburn and many more.

I stayed for 5 nights at Carr House Farm Bed and Breakfast and simply never wanted to leave.||As a keen walker and cyclist, the area around Carr House Farm is a rich playground for adventure. I enjoyed getting up early in the morning and being out on my bike by dawn. It was great to come back to a hot breakfast feast cooked by Anna, which lasted me for most of the day! As founder of World Jam Festival, her jam was reet tasty.||Nothing was too much trouble for Anna. She was extremely hospitable, welcoming, warm and kind. She was insightful and thoughtful, considering things I needed before I had even thought of them. The accommodation is separate from the main farmhouse which was great for me coming and going as I pleased, as a visitor on my own. Breakfast was served in the main farm house, which allowed time for me to greet the farm dogs and cats. She checked in with me daily to see if there was anything else I needed.||My interests were unusual and bespoke, as I came to develop music I am writing about the region. Anna could not have been more thoughtful in providing intimate knowledge of the area. known only by a local. This sort of expertise could not be found online or in books. As a 6th generation farmer, Anna knows the land, people and history in a way like no other. I couldn't have had a better guide. She has hilarious anecdotes and endless stories which made me laugh constantly for 5 days. ||The area is a metropolis for nature and wilderness, rich with sounds. I have never felt more alive. Nearby there are moors, rivers, hills, meadows, woodlands, ancient villages and country pubs. Literally just down the road is the wonderfully romantic, open air Byland Abbey. The dark skies added to the sense of romantic wonder available and provided star gazing opportunities galore. ||Not only does she have hospitality down to a fine art, Anna is also a highly connected business woman, with extensive knowledge of marketing and tourism within the whole of Yorkshire. This meant she could recommend many places to visit, or events to know about or times of year to come and visit, based upon my interests. She offered to make bookings for me, for anything I needed. I felt honoured to be invited to some local events by Anna and meet people in the local community. ||I was made to feel extremely at home in Ampleforth, for which I felt very grateful.|I whole heartedly recommend a stay at Carr House Farm Bed and Breakfast.

We have just had 3 nights at Carr House Farm and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Anna, the owner, runs the B&B with all you would expect from Yorkshire hospitality. She really looked after us with beautiful breakfasts and was full of information, advice and quick to help some other guests by using her contacts and influence to arrange dinner bookings in local restaurants. I know this doesn’t sound much, but when everywhere is fully booked for weeks on end, it was significant.||Our accommodation was self contained and could sleep 3. The double bed was a ‘half tester’ (think of a 4 poster without the posts, with the canopy supported at the back, but suspended by chains at the front) quite the feature! The room had the usual TV, free WiFi, radio and fridge, plus tea and coffee making facilities. Anna also popped varied confectionaries in daily, which was appreciated. The bathroom was basic, but large and very clean. In summary, the room was a standard ‘no frills’ very comfortable room, with exposed beams throughout and we would happily return for a further stay.||The location just outside of Wass was perfect for us, being very close to the Kilburn White Horse and the associated walks along the Cleveland way, Rievaux Abbey, Byland Abbey, Helmsley Castle and Knaresborough. There are 3 very good ‘gastro pubs’ within a 3 mile radius, non of which disappointed, though the Staplyton arms was my favourite.||If you want ‘no frills’ good old fashioned Yorkshire farm hospitality then I recommend you book a say, but be prepared to let your belt out another hole.

Carr house farm was absolutely fantastic, I had such a great experience staying here and I could not fault my stay. ||As I drove into the drive way, I was amazed at how beautiful the garden and house was. I first met Anna to get checked into my room, she was so friendly and insightful, I was happy to have a lovely chat with her. She ran me through everything about the room and the house. She also gave great recommendations on things to do and see during my stay in Yorkshire. She could even give discounted tickets to some places including the extraordinary Castle Howard. I also met her husband Jack who introduced me to the most adorable Labrador puppies. The hosts were so lovely, and I enjoyed speaking to them both throughout my stay. The rooms were beautiful rooms with a large bed and spotless private bathroom. The room was such a great size as well lots of room. It came with a delicious slice of cake and tea making facilities. The room was in a small cottage near the main house surrounded by the beautiful garden, it had seats outside of the room to relax and admire the stunning area. There was also plenty of room to park my car near the room. There was breakfast every morning inside the main house which was a great selection of delicious food and Anna would cook a lovely hot breakfast as well. The location of the bed and breakfast was fantastic it was close to so many beautiful areas including ruined abbeys and small towns. ||I could not recommend the Carr house farm bed and breakfast more, from the amazing host to the perfect location to the spotless rooms.

I had a great time at Carr House Farm. Very comfortable rooms. Enjoyed the area for walking to Byland Abbey and Rievaulx Abbey. I was lucky to have great weather too. In the back of the house there is also a place of stunning beauty. A river, where you and your family can have a relaxing day at summertime and also enjoy a dip in the fresh water. I was happy to continue with my cold-water-dipping.

Wanted to visit Helmsley and the newly re opened Star at Harome. As we had stayed at Carr house before and it’s in easy reach of both. Thought we would have winter weekend away. |Carr house did not disappoint. Anna and Jack as welcoming as before. Brilliant Yorkshire breakfast, just what was needed on a cold winter morning. We had the room attached the cottage with a comfortable four poster bed. Plenty of tea and coffee, with fresh milk not the usual little pots of long life milk. All in all a lovely start to the Christmas season.

What a lovely B&B! Stayed here 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed my time there. My Room was very cosy and tucked away from the main house which I liked! I visited the Ampleforth college, Helmsley and Thirsk, all within reasonable distance and such beautiful places to see and the country side surrounding this B&B is fab! Hosts were welcoming! Will be visiting again. Thank you
