Paella Palooza on social media.

I didn't know this place existed as it is not in the most visited street or necessarily the most busy one.

The environment was quiet for a Sunday but still enjoyable. I really like the decorations and the little patio although we couldn't get any tables with sun.

The food was very good. I ordered the Sunday Roast - pork belly and I was not let down. The pork was tender and the rest of the roast crispy and well done without being dry, as expected as per the British standards for that type of meal. The intriguing bit was a little bit of a mash on top of the vegetables with celery and rosemary.

So far, so good, so ⭐⭐⭐ for this lovely place with such a cool decoration.

Definitely a place that needs another visit to explore more of the food/cocktail vibes.

I recently spent a few hours at Carter & Co. sampling their large cocktail menu and wine list. It's a great spot in Southsea for drinks, with a nice, buzzy atmosphere and plenty of comfortable seating options, including an outdoor area.

Regarding food, they offer a selection of small plates and larger main courses. We enjoyed a few small plates alongside a fantastic bottle of wine.

If you're looking for somewhere a little more special for a catch-up with friends or a date night, Carter & Co. is an excellent choice. The service is friendly, the cocktail and wine list is extensive, and the ambiance is spot-on. I'll definitely be back in the future.

We stayed one night over the May day bank holiday. The room was light, airy with everything you need, although you can hear noise from the surrounding area.
We used the restaurant underneath and were pleasantly surprised by the food, it was delicious and so well cooked. We had the chicken tendons with a dip to share as a starter, then I had the short ribs with a creamy mash, carrots and tender stem broccoli and grav. My partner had the pork belly with parmiere potatoes (crispy on the outside and soft in the middle) with red cabbage; both were well cooked and absolutely delicious 😋
We had lemon tart with ice cream to finish and again the pie was so delicious (lemony, with a firm sweet pastry base and lovely fresh strawberries and raspberries with meringue and Chantilly cream.
The service was spot on.

Just been ordered the belly pork had to send it back twice. First time it was just fat on top(questioned the server that this wasnt right and she said she doesnt know and couldnt care less had to ask her to go ask the kitchen who confirmed it should be crackling) , second time it came out black and when I questioned the server she told me it's supposed to be burnt. I sent it back again and then it came back better. I ordered the chocolate fondant which was over cooked and not runny inside, they should call it a chocolate cake so I sent it back and gave up. Server was rude and couldn't handle complaints. The blonde server was really polite.

Held my baby shower at Carter & Co and the whole experience was amazing! We pre ordered our food which was so tasty and was allowed to decorate the table! Staff couldn’t of been anymore helpful.

Birthday Hi Tea. Good selection. But they need to leave off black pudding wrap. Not for Hi tea ? I don't think so. Nice surroundings. Very quirky. Didn't stay over night. Just visited with Frie as for Hi tea.

I’ve been going here a couple of years on and off for the Sunday Roasts and it’s been amazing. Lovely pink roast beef cooked to perfect. However, last time we came, I got what looked like a thin steak, fried on both sides and peppered on top. I asked what happened to the lovely beef and they said they had people complaining it was too rare. I don’t know if the original beef wasn’t ready on time and they just gave us this or if this was genuinely the case. Whatever the situation, it was a real disappointment this time and I don’t think I’ll be in a hurry to come back. Would have been 5 stars if this didn’t happen and the 4 stars are for all the previous times. See attached photo of beef.

We were really excited to try this restaurant for date night but were extremely disappointed. It was far too busy for their capacity which meant we had to wait 1.5 hours for a starter which was £9 for 5 cold calamari and £9 for 3 chicken tenders. Our drinks took over 30 mins, the waitress forgot out waters, our wine was served in an aperol glass as they ran out of wine glasses, our mains were on the 2 hour mark, cold and undercooked and hugely over priced for quality that’s worse than a harvester. Every other table around us complained and were sending food back. £100 date night wasted. Had to go to McDonald’s on the way home. Not elevated dining as advertised more a cheap pub with rowdy clientele in bar. Do not recommend!
