This is a lovely and unique house built around a water mill. The hosts are lovely people. Ric recommended some walks and sites. One morning before a long walk I paid extra for the full breakfast and I highly recommend it. I was travelling alone and had the room at the top. I loved it! It was private and lovely, spotlessly clean, and the big bathtub was a joy after hiking 11 miles that day! If you are a Jane Austen fan, Box Hill is only a little over a mile’s walk, the site of a pivotal scene from Emma. There is a lot of uphill climb though, but you can drive to Box Hill as well if that is better for you. Dorking has a lot to recommend it. I stayed only two nights but could have happily stayed longer.

We stayed at this beautiful b&b for one night after visiting Denbies winery. Peta and Ric are fabulous hosts and their property is stunning. We had an amazing room with en-suite facilities and lots of character. We had a walk along the river and up to Box Hill, which is a very steep climb, but well worth it when you reach the top. Breakfast was also plentiful with fresh fruit, cereals, toast and croissants, tea or coffee.|We can’t rate Castle Mill highly enough and will definitely revisit.

A really unique guest house, very beautifully cared for. We were happy to enjoy this exquisitely clean home, not least thanks to being asked to take off your shoes (as in so many countries in the world) and enjoying the gentle soft carpets. The host was wonderful and extremely helpful, friendly and most interesting to exchange ideas with. We will come again!

My husband stayed for a business event. Ric was a brilliant host and extremely welcoming. The whole place is just beautiful! Room very spacious and comfortable, the bed in particular! Breakfast was brilliant, continental option but more than enough! He would definitely stay again! Thank you Ric!

Myself and partner stayed at Castle Mill on a visit to his daughter who is a local vet. The historic accommodation is so idyllic set on the banks of the River Mole with the quaintest landscaped garden. With its ancient past sympathetically conserved amongst the luxurious modern interior furnishings and open plan layout. ||Our attic suite was very comfortable, clean and spacious. It took a while to get used to the open plan bedroom/bathroom set up but this was just a minor detail in the grand scheme of the quality and cleanliness of the accommodation throughout our stay. Ric, Peta and their dog, Minnie, were also very gracious hosts, making us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. Breakfast was also substantial with an option of continental or cooked. Our hosts were very informative, social and happy to share the history of their home and help with places of interest in the local area At no time did we feel unwelcome. If you want somewhere unique to stay with London within commuting distance, treat yourself and book a stay with Ric and Peta. You won’t be disappointed.

Friendly and well-situated B&B. The room was very comfortable with a sitting area and en suite loo and bath. We had an excellent cooked breakfast (£12 extra, but worth it). Castle Mill is situated about 10m walk from Dorking High Street and is close to an excellent pub.

I thoroughly enjoyed staying here, with polite and friendly hosts. The accommodation is first class, such an elegant house. The continental breakfast was delicious. The owners could not have been more helpful and it was a pleasure to have a number of interesting conversations with them. There are plenty of lovely walks around here and the owners will point them out to you if you wish. I would highly recommend staying here.

Myself and my partner stayed at Castle Mill for just one evening! But what an evening. Such a beautiful home to be opened and shared with the public. Peta and Ric were the perfect hosts recommended nice places to eat and even called us a mechanic when our vehicle broke down 🫶🏼Peta made us a delicious breakfast in the morning too! 5**** plus! Will definitely return, if they’ll have us x Shelley & Stan
