Lovely hotel and just a 10 minute stroll into the centre. ||Booked for a group of 10.||We arrived early and as our rooms were ready we were allowed to check in and unpack. Staff were so friendly, supportive and helpful. ||Good size rooms. The beds and pillows are really comfortable and we all had a great night’s sleep. ||Breakfast was buffet style with a great selection of cereals, fruit, yogurt and cooked items - all very tasty. It was very busy at breakfast but the staff were prompt and polite with service. ||Lovely bar area with a good selection and competitive pricing, the staff who manned the bar were very friendly and accommodating, especially when we returned from the theatre. ||Friends were all impressed with their first visit to the hotel and all have said they would definitely return. ||Lichfield itself has a great selection of shops, boutique and high street chains, lots of pubs, cafes and a wide selection of eateries, plus of course the stunning cathedral. ||The Cathedral Hotel is our go to as a couple for a quick night away, in fact we have stayed several times already, and will certainly return.

Have just returned home after my mum's wake held at tge Cathedral Hotel. They were excellent. The staff couldn't have been kinder and more helpful. The buffet was never ending and they bent over backwards to accommodate out dietary needs. The room was the perfect size for the 45 attendees. The bar was good. Limitless tea and coffee. My gratitude to the chef and his team, the barman, the front of house team. Would have given 6 stars but only 5 available.

This hotel is a little tired but our stay was made first class because of the exceptional staff, who pulled out all stops to make our stay comfortable. Peter and Lesley cared for guests in a friendly and professional manner and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was very good and always served with efficiency and a smile. A great team. The staff were excellent, helpful and friendly. Sarah was a star and never stopped working! And the lady who "does breakfast" was concerned why I hadn't been down for breakfast (free, but not a breakfast person) even offered a take-out on leaving the last morning! The room was tired and needs decorating, but clean. Paying £5 a day parking is an irritation, especially when I over paid by £35 going through booking.com. Lichfield was a beautiful spot.

Great location, very friendly staff and a very good breakfast. The room lacked a few of the comforts that we would have liked, but this was still a good base from which to visit the Lichfield. Easy walking distance from the Cathedral and city centre.

This hotel whilst not the grandest , has the friendliest staff and best breakfast I have had for a long time. Peter and Lesley making us so welcome and going out of their way to make our stay so comfortable.The staff work together as a family , all helping with each others jobs within the hotel. Thank you everybody for a lovely weekend with our friends .

When they say dog friendly they really mean it! Never have the four of us (two human, two canine) felt more welcome at a hotel. From treats in the room to a special breakfast in the bar, it was so lovely to feel the dogs were valued guests and not an inconvenience to be tolerated. And it was really comfortable for the human guests too, with a great location to boot! Highly recommended.

We have stayed here several times before as it is a short walk into the town centre. When we arrived on our first night we were told that the heating wasn’t working and were offered one free car park space for the 2 nights we were staying (£10). We felt we should have been advised before we arrived so that we could have decided to cancel if we wanted to. The room was heated by oil radiators and was warm enough but on the first night the bar was cold and the breakfast room was cold the next morning. Other than that we had a good stay. The food is always hot and tasty and the staff are very welcoming. We stayed in a better room this time that looked like it had been upgraded. Previously we have been put in the third floor where the rooms are in need of refurbishment. I would recommend this hotel for the location and welcoming staff
