Last week, my husband, son, and I visited Catkin Bloom Café in Winkleigh, and it was absolutely lovely! The café is a peaceful oasis filled with vibrant plants, creating a cozy, garden-like atmosphere. It’s the kind of place that instantly makes you feel at ease, like you’ve stepped into a hidden gem.

We enjoyed hot chocolate so delicious, it made winter feel a little warmer, and shared a slice of cake between the three of us. The cake was so good that we almost had to fight over the last bite—definitely worth the visit on its own! Every detail, from the cozy seating to the comforting treats, made our experience truly enjoyable.
What really set this café apart, though, was the friendly staff. They were so welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. With great food, a beautiful setting, and wonderful service, Catkin Bloom Café is a spot we’ll definitely be returning to. Highly recommend!

Cafe combined with a florist, when you walk in the smell of the lilies is awesome. This used to be a garage and a lot of original features remain in place. We were the first to arrive that morning and when we left the place was completely full. The cafe also boosts great views over the valley towards Dartmoor. They have seating inside and outside.
They have an excellent selection of cakes and the coffee was great and served in an impressively large cup.
Whilst in the area you should visit Inch’s cider which is just down the road

If you want beautiful, eye catching and exquisite flowers (and at a very reasonable price) Catkin Blooms is for you! Cath is a fantastic florist and great to work with. She produced and created our wedding flowers and they were just perfect. Cath was a fantastic communicator from start to finish (responding quickly and courteously to our initial enquiries) and the following face to face meeting and follow up phone calls were all well timed and informative regarding what was possible and when. Cath was fantastic in her approach in helping us to to realise what we wanted and how to turn that into reality as well as giving us extra hints and tips along the way. She took all our ideas and created beautiful displays that reflected both our personalties and style wedding to a tee. As a gardener I really appreciate fresh flowers and floral displays and I cannot fault Cath in her combinations and arrangements – they were just stunning. I also have to say the my sister and I (Bride and Bridesmaid) had bee’s following us all day and landing on our bouquets, it was wonderful. I think that was true testament to the freshness and beauty of our flowers! Cath and her team provided a friendly and professional service and a local business that I would use again. This is a wonderful place! The staff are kind and very helpful. The coffee is good, the cakes are the fantastic! An ever changing selection. The flowers and plants look good too but I've never purchased. Really worth a visit. Many thanks to all concerned.

What a little gem of a find after work!! Wonderful service, friendly and great coffee. The cakes looked delicious and a great selection. We had a slice of the coffee cake and it did not disappoint it was absolutely delicious. Wonderful to hear they used local jersey milk too, will definitely return.

Wow! Had the pleasure of purchasing a beautiful scented candle online from the lovely Catherine yesterday. Delivery was swift and beautifully wrapped. Her shop is always full of gorgeous goodies and flowers - it is a joy to visit. Looking forward to visiting again after lockdown. Thanks so much Catherine!

This place is simply gorgeous. The cafe serves the most excellent coffee, and the gf choc brownies were divine. I'm defo going for lunch next time, the menu looked varied and delicious. As well as the cafe, there is a heavenly gift shop section and also a florist. You can sit in a comfy armchair sipping your cappuccino while watching the most glorious floral creations coming to life over in the corner. Catkin Blooms really is a gem, highly recommend.
