For those of you into caravanning, you could do worse than choose Cawood Country Park as your next port of call. Situated just about ten miles from the beautiful city of York and five miles from the town of Selby, it is an ideal place to sit back and relax but also close enough for the local attractions. The site itself is mainly made up of static caravans, but there are also pitches for tourers! The toilet/shower blocks are spotless and are cleaned on a daily basis. The site straddles a large fishing lake (permit issued on production of valid rod licence) which is stocked with lots of species! The club room is well situated and you can get food and drink at very reasonable prices, The hosts, Marc and Tori (Victoria) are very welcoming and can't do enough for you. The food is excellent. We had the large breakfast and later on, Sunday dinner and both meals were excellent. One small downside is the shop/reception. The shop is pretty small and carries only the basics so, if you need a wider variety, a trip to Selby, where there are lots of supermarkets, might be the order of the day. There is also an indoor swimming pool available to park residents. Be sure to book in advance! You can catch the bus (No 42) to York or Selby from the village of Cawood, which is a short walk away. Please pay attention to the bus timings! One other point to note is that the club room closes at 7.00 pm on Sunday and doesn't open again until Wednesday! That aside, if you want a peaceful place where you can just kick back and relax, then you might just like to add Cawood to your list of considerations.

Lovely site with a nice bit for tourers, the pitches are nice and well maintained with the only problem was that its only 10amp. The pub on site is nice and plenty of seating in and outside, and there's also a fishing lake. There are a few pubs about 10 min walk away which are dog friendly and nice. Would recommend as definitely will be coming again.

I went to Cawood Park for 2 nights. It's a lovely site with very nice stuff which looked after me .
But the electric went off but it wasn't a problem because we cooked on gas for a very short time and the electrician came out to repair the trip switch which was very good at his job and I like say thank you for that.
All together I would like to give it 10 out of 10 and I will be coming back again soon.

We stayed in lodge No.1... what a place , it was of a very high standard ,and a lovely view too.. We would like to thank Victoria, Mark and Angie for all their help in what was a very complicated first night, it all got sorted out. The site itself is lovely and clean, as the bar / cafe was only open the weekend we only used it a couple of times ( for food ) and it was delicious.

Special praise must go to the cleaner of the lodge, it was spotless, and I mean spotless, it was just like walking into a brand new place for the very first time.

The location was out of the way , which wasn't helped by the flooding around the area and the swing bridge was closed making the trip into York much longer, ( but that's obviously NOT the sites fault)..

A HUGE thank you must go to the owner Kevin, for what he did for us, he didn't have to help us out, but he did, as he went that extra mile.. 5* ... Once again thank you all very much for everything..

Well we’ve just had a few days at this lovely quiet site. The caravan we stayed in was lovely. Spotlessly clean and had everything you needed. The lounge was a little room on its own not open plan like most vans so at night it was really cosy. The staff are really nice and helpful. Its just a pity we had to come away today(Saturday) instead of the Monday as we should have. Illness prevailed im afraid. Definetly would reccomend this lovely site.
