We had a wonderful stay at Cedar House! Such a relaxing place, with beautiful gardens, a pool and jacuzzi. Our room was clean and bright with a private terrace area and lovely views over the garden. From the moment we arrived, the staff were so friendly and helpful. Delicious breakfast, cooked to order. Plenty to chose from (incl. vegan options).
Great location for exploring the New Forest and just a 5 minute drive to the beach. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend and hope to stay again in the future.

Mr and Mrs Van Hagen are an incredibly charming couple who have the most lovely property to spend a very special few days at!|At the original booking stage, Mrs Van Hagen was so helpful in getting us booked and prioritising us with a lovely room in the house called ‘Genius’ - highly recommend for the luxuries and space which are provided and with a lovely balcony looking out over the Dorset Countryside! |Mr Van Hagen is available via text/whatsapp at any time and was incredibly pleasant in response to us on day of arrival when we were going to be arriving post their normal check in hours, made us feel extremely welcome to their family home virtually and when we met them both at separate occasions in our stay, they were simply charming. |Breakfast on both days was superb - a memorable Georgian dining room, with a great continental selection, very tasty hot food (have the poached eggs… fantastic) supported by the charming service of the breakfast team. |The outside facilities are also an extra lovely touch with the heated pool, hotub and sauna. On the second night of our stay, we spent a lovely couple of hours down by the pool, reading our books and enjoying the Dorset countryside. So comfortable. |I couldn’t be happier with my stay at Cedar House and my partner and I will be recommending to loved ones if they’re ever down in this part of the country. |Thank you very much Maggie and Chris. ||Ellie Jones and Grahame Johnson

Was a lovely spacious room, in a quirky house...we stayed in papillon, had a balcony overlooking the gardens, pool and hot tub area!
We had an evening dip in the pool and hot tub, which was clean and relaxing.
Close to Christchurch, drove to the Quay and looked around the historic town. We hired a boat to take a trip up and down the river..my son loved being the captain! ? would recommend.

Close to the beaches and new forest too... so many places to explore during your stay!

Breakfast was tasty and filling and cooked to your desired specifications. Thank you! Would recommend and will definitely visit again.

Truly great experience and character. Very good B&B with great facilities. After arriving to this wonderful building in the country of a seaside town. We were welcomed by an amazing couple. After some great banter and conversation we arrived in our room. Has great character and all the things you need was like arriving at your great aunts house which is very decorative. We especially enjoyed the heated pool and sauna and hot tub of which Chris was on hand to heat and make sure it was perfect. Thanks Chris. Breakfast was delightful English breakfast just what was needed. Our room has balcony doors and with the cool breeze you can hear the birds chirping away. Would highly recommend this place great value and a nice pub for drinks if you need it 200 meters away.

This is a lovely property in beautiful grounds, and our room , breakfasts and waiting staff were all excellent. However the break was spoilt for us by the fact that we had to report no hot water in our bathroom at certain times over 3 consecutive days. This lack of such an essential commodity was was very disappointing and took the edge off what should have been a good our 4 night stay

Lets start with a few positives. Wonderful gardens with great outdoor seating, a small but nice pool, sauna and jacuzzi (possible with a charge?) Friendly greeting from host. Lovely old house but looking tired. Very hot and good water supply in the bathroom which is not always the case in old houses in our experience. Nice eclectic mix of paintings round the house.||The room - Havilland - was large with a huge bathroom and a balcony overlooking the gardens. The furniture on the balcony was tired and a bit rusty. The bed - which was huge and comfortable - was tatty and very worn on the footboard. Annoying wardrobe which didn't shut properly and a few tired looking old hangers. Hairdryer|with such a short lead that it was impossible to use it in front of the mirrors. Not helpful for trying to blow dry your hair!||Breakfast was very hit and miss. 2 pleasant young girls helping 'under training' according to the rather harassed senior staff member we met. Cups on plates not saucers, only one knife for both hot food and toast. Juice but no water, which we asked for each morning. Poor selection of fruit., the same tired dry looking small oranges in a dish. Hot meal served on cold plates. Tuesday very chaotic as we had to wait for tables to be cleared, culminating with a dog (owners?) leaving a very pungent gift in the breakfast area (after service had finished) but by the guest exit/entrance. On the last day only one of the girls serving at the 8:00 am sitting, who did her best. On last day the dog repeatedly came into the dining area and had to be removed by the staff.|The tea however, was hot and strong!|There are many glowing reviews - so perhaps we were unlucky - but have stayed in many nice B&Bs which were far better value and had well organised service and facilities in much better condition.

From Marcus. 29th and 30th June. Cost £370 for the 2 nights.|Good points. Lovely gardens. Nice albeit small jacuzzi. Delicious breakfast.|Bad points. Very tired and could definitely do with a revamp/decorating. Sink and shower water extremely slow to drain away. Shower water supply pretty feeble. Served a cooked breakfast, but have to wait for the toast, by which time the breakfast is not hot anymore...how hard can it be to bring out the cooked food and toast together? Weird seating arrangement at breakfast, me and my partner, and 3 other couples who we haven't met before, all sat at an 8 seater table.|Hugely overpriced for what you get, £185 per night!!!

Despite booking in April, the hotel double booked the room I wanted. I was only informed late the night before, therefore unable to change my booking. The room I was given was not for 4 people, two of us ended up sleeping in the most cramped conditions possible, and the room had zero bathroom privacy. The outside space was also not suitable for 4 people, which is what my initial attraction was to the room I booked.
