Starting with a positive the staff in reception & the dining room were very helpful & friendly. The breakfast was very nice as was the dining area. |However - in our opinion the hotel needs a complete refurbishment! The outside needs painting and looks very tired. Our room was a reasonable size but the windows were dirty, there were marks on the carpet. In the bathroom the sink was cracked the plug hole & overflow were dirty and so were the skirting boards! The shower over the bath was a waste of time as the water just dribbled out! The room just seemed neglected - dirty curtains, dirty walls and the throw on the bed was stained. |It’s a shame because the location is really good - took us 15 minutes to walk to Great Central railway and Loughborough is really close too. |Unfortunately we won’t be returning and wouldn’t recommend this hotel either. Sorry.

Stayed one night here when we visited the Great Central Railway just before Christmas. We hadn't booked but they had a room available on the ground floor which backed right onto the railway which was perfect. For £59 for the night, it was very good value for money. The room was small and dated, but very clean with tea and coffee making facilities and shower gel and shampoo provided. The small TV was sufficient with a large range of channels to choose from. I would definitely recommend this place to stay if you are visiting the area.

Had my first contact with my daughter and her family here today. The previous night my husband rang the Ceder Hotel to find out what the criteria was about using the pub. The criteria was explained to us by a lovely young girl and my husband booked a table outside in the garden. We arrived at the pub and a gentleman came out to greet us and tell us what was going to happen. We went into the garden and sat at a table. My husband then went inside to order our drinks and the owner told him that they were not opening until Thursday for the restaurant but as we had phoned up they opened up just for us ( they were doing takeaways) to meet up. The food and the service was outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble and all our food was cooked lovely. The owner actually came out with a bowl of water for their dog. Made us feel really special and we all got to meet up and I saw my little grandson enjoying the freedom to run around the gardens and watch the steam trains passing by the garden. Totally recommend this to everyone. I will remember our first meeting after lock down.

The Cedars is a very lovely establishment. The rooms are clean, a good size, well laid out and good value for money. The staff are very helpful, thoughtful and friendly. The bar has a wonderful selection of drinks and snacks and a very good selection of areas to sit, chill out and listen to music.

The room was a complete disgrace, dated and very small with bathroom window with NO blind or curtain in full view of the car park.
Manager Very rude and abrupt when approached. But the other members of staff where very pleasant, especially the Morning staff who made a very good cooked breakfast.

Stayed here when I took my son to Loughborough college. Room was nice with adequate desk and sitting area. Food in the restaurant was very nice. Staff friendly. My printer failed whilst I was there and the receptionist printed the documents off for me. Would definitely recommend for working away.

Stayed at The Cedars Hotel for Download Festival, recommended by some friends. ||Really easy to get to and from, good bus route, bus stop to the festival is just down the road; easy to get an Uber as well. ||The hotel is walking distance from the city centre, and there is a Tesco and a little convenience store in the vicinity. ||Staff are great, very friendly and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble.||Didn’t have food at the hotel, but had breakfast one morning, it was a good English breakfast, perfect for a long festival day. ||Rooms are a bit outdated, but clean. I would suggest adding some drawers, the room I stayed on did not have drawers just a little wardrobe, hence the 4 stars.||There’s a garden in the back of the hotel, it has comfortable tables and chairs, it is a lovely place to have morning coffee and relax.||Overall I would recommend it, and will definitely stay again!
