Another great stay at Challan Hall . My husband ,my cousin and I spent another two nights at Challan Hall , we love staying here . The rooms are very comfortable , cosy and spotless . Charlotte and Mike are wonderful hosts . The breakfasts are exceptional and so is the evening dinner if you are lucky enough for Charlotte to be able to cook for you at least once during your stay . The views are stunning and it is in an ideal position for walking and enjoying the wildlife . Well worth a visit and we will be booking again soon .

Had a great couple of days in Silverdale and really enjoyed our stay at Challan Hall.|Very comfortable room, lovely location and memorable breakfasts. The gardens and the view of Haweswater in the evening sunshine were worth a stay alone.|Recommended

Exceptional hospitality by the hosts Charlotte and Michael. From the room to the meals and surrounding countryside everything was perfect. A place to relax and appreciate the simple things. A home away from home. Would recommend to everyone.

We stayed here for two nights on our way to Scotland. Lovely peaceful B&B in a beautiful setting overlooking Hawes Water. Breakfast was delicious. Lovely walks straight from the door, including to Leighton Moss Bird Reserve. Wonderful hosts.

Two very pleasant nights, was visiting RSPB at Leighton Moss which is 5 minutes drive from the B&B. Lovely accommodation, lovely hosts and lovely breakfast. We did not get to appreciate the views over Hawes water from B&B, but from the little we saw they looked stunning.

We’ve stayed with Charlotte and Mike several times.the accommodation is wonderfully comfortable, lovely super king bed with en suite facilities. Charlotte is an excellent cook, delicious homemade scones with tea on arrival and with an excellent three coursed dinner. Unfortunately neither of us could manage a ‘proper’ cooked breakfast on either morning, but we have indulged previously. Excellent value for money, can’t praise it enough.

Challan Hall is like an art gallery, brimming with beautiful objects (unsure how everything stays so gleaming and dust-free!). At the same time, hosts Charlotte and Mike are so kind and welcoming, one feels perfectly at home. I nearly swooned when Charlotte brought tea and sticky toffee pudding when we racked up, all grubby and exhausted after a day's damp cycling. The extensive garden is equally enchanting, a colourful botanical delight, with a breathtaking view over the lake and wooded hillside beyond. The terrace offers armchair ornithology e.g. woodpecker and nuthatch are regulars, and one can hear bitterns booming at nearby Leighton Moss. Perfect "full English" breakfasts, cooked to order, with the most delicious local sausages. The bedroom was sumptuous, mattresses and pillows soft and just right.

I went back up to Challan Hall again, having stayed a couple of years ago, on my way up to The LAkes. I was pleased to see it was as lovely as ever. The breakfast is great with a good variety of fresh and healthy options - as well as a great cooked option. The rooms are lovely and clean with high quality linen, which you don't always get these days. The Casson’s are such great hosts, and have so much knowledge about the local area. Thank you - I will be back next year!
