This was my second time at this beautiful retreat and we had a fantastic stay. I came with three friends and we have all really enjoyed it. The staff are so friendly yet professional. They can't do enough for you. We were lucky to have a wonderful young lady waiting on us in the restaurant and she was an asset to your company. Her name is Evie, she's a little star ⭐
Our rooms were beautiful and spotless, the food was exceptional and there was so much choice. We relaxed, we exercised and came home feeling refreshed. Just perfect. We will definitely be returning. ?

STAFF: All the staff were truly delightful and went out of their way to be helpful and cheerful (except for one, see notes under ROOM).||FOOD: Lunch buffet was nice with plenty of choice. The hot dishes could have been hotter, but overall very good. Dinner looked impressive but failed to deliver. Scallops were very nicely presented, but were undercooked and stone cold. The duck was well cooked but it and the veg were not seasoned and the sauce lacked any flavour. Desserts clearly made hours previously and was just bland. My French 75 cocktail was horrid. Proportions of gin to champagne was off and I seriously doubt it was champagne. The other ingredients are lemon and sugar, so why a huge chunk of orange was plonked in the glass is a mystery. I didn't drink it and it was removed from my bill at checkout. Breakfast ok, I would have paid extra for a full English, but it was turkey sausage and bacon? Yuck!|FACILITIES: No issues, I enjoyed them.|TREATMENTS: Massage and facial, both very nice.|ROOM: Found hairs in bath on arrival, housekeeping wete in the corridor, so I politely asked if she could help. She said not one word, just pushed past me with a cloth and a spray, wiped hairs away and pushed past me on her way out. So rude and totally unnecessary. Room was not cleaned very well, stains in bath and mould on bathmat. Huge cobwebs on windows, window didn't shut properly, curtains didn't close due to curtain rail, so no real privacy. Curtains falling apart, pretty disgraceful.|Room itself was large and bed comfortable. Two comfy chairs and a footstool. No plugs by bed which was an issue as I have specialist equipment I use at night, however Rob at reception arranged for an extension lead for me.|Gratuity added to drinks etc, Inc coffee, then when you are leaving the add an extra £5 for additional gratuity and £2 for an unspecified charity. I guess they bank on the fact that people may be too embarrassed to ask for it to be removed. I was happy to pay the additional £5 but I choose what charities I donate to on a regular basis, so I asked for that to be removed.|So, a mixed bag. Would I return? Yes, I probably would, but would eat my evening meal elsewhere.

I stayed for 1 night as I had a really good offer for being a Vitality health insurance member, I mean a REALLY good offer! ||||I arrived at 2pm and was checked in by a lovely member of staff who explained the facilities, arranged a time for my dinner and gave me directions to my room. I spent my time in the gym, the 25m pool, the hydrotherapy pool and I had an amazing full body massage. Dinner was three courses and there were plenty of choices for each course. Again, great service throughout dinner and there were lots of people sitting alone so don't hesitate to book a solo visit for a relaxing break. I'd booked times for breakfast and lunch but didn't have either as I was enjoying the facilities and would have preferred to take those meals at my leisure. ||||I had a large double room on the first floor. This is possibly where Champneys could benefit from improvements. The hotel area is a little rough around the edges which I expect is due to the high turnover of guests over the years. My toilet seat was loose, the bath needed fresh grout, the furniture was dated, there were no plugs close to the bed, it didn't have a smart TV for streaming. Minor things really but they're things I'd expect from a premium hotel. Saying that, I slept really well! ||||Champneys markets itself as a 'health spa' and it's perfect for a wellness break - healthy food, relaxation, gym, beautiful outside areas for walking or exercise, swimming. Having been to several day spas and spa breaks, I wouldn't class Champneys as an indulgent spa (i.e. prosecco, cake and thermal experiences) it's very geared to wellness and wellbeing which was exactly what I was after.

We had a great time on our two night stay. My deep tissue massage with Sarah was lovely. All of the staff, especially Annette were friendly and very helpful especially when I thought I had lost some Jewellery. It was wonderfully relaxing. The food has improved since I was last there. I would definitely recommend.

I was a bit nervous after reading many reviews but it exceeded my expectations. The location is beautiful, the facial treatment was out of this world, the spa facilities were fine, I loved the jets. Lovely changing room and showers. There was plenty to eat. Buffet breakfast and lunch which was fantastic. Three course evening meal was good, not fine dining but plenty of choice. Lots of comfy areas to sit and relax around the complex. We went on a 241 offer and I would definitely return under a similar offer.

Went for a solo spa day. Welcomed by a lovely lady and had a fab welcome small buffet breakfast - orange juice, yogurt pots, salmon and cream cheese toast bits, tea and coffee. The gym was well equipped and changing rooms clean and plenty of fresh towels. Robes provided were soft and clean. Pool areas , sauna etc nice and clean. Buffet lunch was great, plenty of options and felt really nice and healthy and could help self as much as liked. Chill areas were nice and comfy and welcoming. I'm really happy with my day and definitely will be coming back! Thanks ?

My stay was very relaxing and the food was excellent. The room I stayed in was looking a bit tired, the shower head was very grubby , the bath was also a bit grubby and the shower leaked on the floor. At mealtimes, the food was great although the service for drinks was a bit slow. In the swimming pool area it looks like some light bulbs in the ceiling needed replacing. All the staff were very helpful and the live singer in the evening was very good.
