Lovely location and amenities. Like most reviews the place is feeling its age and requires some updating and a refurb. Treatments were very good. I had a facial and massage from Chante who was great. All the staff were brilliant and attentive. Louise in the terrace cafe was lovely and always smiling despite being exceptionally busy! Overall a nice experience and feeling relaxed after a 2 night stay.

My original review wasn't posted so I'm editing for context. I visited 24/10.
Long queue at check-in a computer not working.
My daughter's bag had a broken handle and flip flops too big. Unable to change them.
Breakfast had poor choices, nothing healthy, and someone forgot to light the burners under the urns so the coffee was cold.
Plunge pool closed.
Indoor hot tub Spa area not working.
Outdoor hot tub cold.
Shortage of relaxation area spaces but the hands free massage was pleasant.
Swimming at the fitness centre was good though no aqua classes.
Lunch was good though only if you liked dill with everything.
Left early as after visiting Aqua Sauna early this year I was disappointed with many aspects of this 'luxury' spa.

Having read many negative reviews written recently, I was a little apprehensive.|Having said that, my sister and I had a wonderful time. We were staying in a lovely room in the main house with a great dressing room area and spacious bathroom.|The staff were all very attentive , especially Edan, and the facilities were varied and mostly running. |In the restaurant, the food was plentiful and had a number of interesting choices and, having used a vitality deal, it was incredible value. |To improve, the cafe staff member, Louise, was working single handedly and would have really benefited from a second member of staff. At one point she fell and there was no one there to help aside from the concerned guests. |Pastries at breakfast would have been a welcomed addition also.

Stayed for 2 nights, luckily on a voucher as I would be massively disappointed if I paid full price! We have visited 2 other properties, Tring had high expectations but massively disappointed. |Indoor jacuzzi not working, other pools barely warm. Jets barely working and one's that were were not powerful. Sauna too busy hard to get in there. Not enough loungers to lay on. No staff cleaning wet floors. |1st night no towels and all shampoos etc empty in the changing room. After 5 minutes running water finally got hot water in the bedroom.|3 water fountains not working!! Taking water from taps for a drink of water.....|Both our robes stained with fake tan! |Food hit and miss, dinner was the best with most options but menu stays exactly the same if there for 2 nights.|Champneys shop was good had some good deals.|I would really avoid this place for a while.... definitely go to springs!! |

Booked a day/ night stay with my husband and friends . Really enjoyed the stay from the time we checked into reception until we left . Woke up to a lovely countryside view |My husband and I and My male friend had excellent strong massages in the spa and i did the wave bed also . Really helped with us feeling a bit low after cold/flus .|Was impressed by the dinner a la carte / not buffet -choice and flavours and friendly staff . very nice evening for the five of us .|Will be booking again with family and friends in the New Year |Pool area is a bit small but enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi area in the morning

This review is primarily about the staff at Champneys. First to mention is Eszter, who works on Reception. I've been to Champneys many times over the years and the Reception staff are excellent at the front of house. I've watched Eszter help her colleagues on many occasions. She is patient, calm and supportive. I've seen her respond to guests with the same helpful and calm manner. She is exceptional at her job and is unflappable, professional and hardworking. No matter whether she is on an early, or late shift, she is cheerful and responsive. Other team members worth a mention are Agnes on Reception and Louise in the Coffee Shop. Agnes is always smiling and helpful. Louise is often run off her feet, with little help, yet is always cheerful and patient. No matter what else people comment on, the staff do a great job at helping guests feel welcome.

I visited with my friend for an overnight stay including dinner, breakfast and a treatment.
The spa was overbooked with day guests, lack of loungers or any seating available. Outdoor jacuzzi was FREEZING cold! Yet the whole spa area is overly hot and stuffy, you leave feeling really lethargic rather than refreshed. It has lovely facilities but it's a bit old and in need of refreshment, do better Champneys!!

Had a brilliant one day visit to Champneys Tring! The staff are brilliant and I really enjoyed my Lymphatic Drainage. I do feel like the pool area is quite small and the place feels a little dated now in terms of tech etc. Some more sun loungers would be good in summer as people were practically fighting for them. Our day entry included lunch - this exceeded expectations. So much choice! No sorry salads around here. Will definitely be back.
