Chancery House is a beautiful place in a great position for exploring the lovely town of Tenterden. The interior is gorgeous and the garden too is lovely - it even has a small swimming pool! Carmen, the very nice Spanish host is very helpful and friendly. She was always available when we needed to ask her anything but was never intrusive. We had the bedroom with the shower (the other bedroom has a roll-top bath) and it was huge and very comfortable. The breakfast was fantastic. We visited Chapel Down Winery for a wine tour which was great and not too far away (we went by taxi and came back by bus). A new Italian restaurant had just opened in Tenterden called Montalbano - this was very good and we would definitely recommend it.||We would definitely stay at Chancery House again, thank you Carmen for looking after us so well!!

We very much enjoyed our four night stay at Chancery House last week. It was extremely comfortable, and Carmen made us feel very welcome. It is a lovely period property, beautifully restored, and very convenient to the town center. The whole house felt both homely and welcoming and we had a super room. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home and garden.

I booked in here at fairly short notice for a couple of nights, and am so glad I did. Believe all the plaudits: Chancery House is a beautiful place, and like its owner, elegant and welcoming. Enjoy its comforts, but also make time to explore wonderful Tenterden and maybe visit Ellen Terry's house at nearby Smallhythe. It's hard to tear yourself away from Carmen's breakfast table, though - confronted with the offer of a "full English" plus warm croissants and cafetière coffee, my diet went west ...

Our first visit to Chancery House was a joy in so many ways . Conveniently placed for the town's shops and restaurants the House and its gardens are a delight with the additional pleasure of a warmly heated swimming pool.||The house is elegantly furnished and thebedrooms large and very comfortable as is the dining room where an excellent breakfast was available.||Importantly my wife and I found in Carmen our hostess someone of great charm who did everything possible to make our stay a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Anyone visiting Chancery House will not be disappointed.||||Clive and Jan Bourne

Booked the Chancery House as we were visiting the Mid Summer Fair. We were met by Carmen and instantly made to feel very welcome.||The house is amazing and gardens are beautiful, we stayed in the front bed room which was huge and had a great en suite. The house is a wonderful place to stay and Carmen was a great host.

Excellent bed and breakfast within walking distance of Tenterden where you will find a good choice of bars and restaurants. Chancery House is a real gem with the owner, Carmen, providing everything you could wish for an excellent bed and breakfast. Spotlessly clean and great breakfasts with real attention to detail.

Chancery House is a fine example of a Georgian house both inside and out. My wife and I celebrated a wedding anniversary 19th/20th July and our experience was all that we could have wished for. The glory of the house was fully complimented by Carmen ||our hostess - she wonderfully triumphed over a power cut on Sunday morning and presented us with a delicious full breakfast.

Very civilised ‘B&B’ which beats most boutique hotels for comfort and ambiance. Historic building in pristine condition, antique furnishings immaculate, comfortable quiet bedroom with embroidered pillows etc, full breakfast with all the trimmings. We had ‘room with bath’, bath being freestanding in adjoining elegant private room. Exquisite public areas, WiFi works too. Relaxing town garden full of autumn colour. Splendid resident cat will monitor your stay with care and welcomes attention.||Hints: No credit cards (advance payment or deposit by bank transfer). Most carpets are white, so muddy boots would be a shame. |
