Chapel Farm is a converted farm barn and stables which has been done very tastefully to make you feel right at home. The owners Louisa and James are very friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and well equipped with en suite bathroom facilities. The setting is very beautiful and peaceful, albeit may be hard to find without following the directions closely, as it is down a long drive through trees. Breakfast is varied choice and very tasty, made with locally sourced produce. Had a wonderful stay overnight while walking the South Downs Way - lots of local village pubs to choose from for evening meal & drinks, and only a few miles from Lewes. Thoroughly recommended, although telly addicts may miss having a TV for a night!

After a 5.5hour journey in torrential rail on the worst traffic weekend of the year to travel we were relieved to find that Chapel Farm is lovely! Calm, relaxing, comfortable and very friendly hosts. One of the best B&B's or hotel room we've ever stayed in, and we both travel a lot with work.

We found Chapel Farm when looking for a place to stay for a couple of nights for a wedding in the locality. We had excellent communications with Louisa and good directions for an off-the-beaten-track B&B. We arrived at the beautiful farmhouse, were welcomed and shown into our room with a private bathroom across the hallway. The room was cosy, clean and bright and had two singles pushed together - as stated in the advert. There was a tea tray with Earl Grey tea bags and fresh coffee and cafetiere. Louisa provided a jug of milk from the fridge. She made recommendations about where to eat but, as it was about 8.30pm, and we had travelled in dreadful conditions, we decided to go to bed after our cup of tea. Next morning presented a lovely breakfast. We were somewhat surprised when, on returning from our day at the wedding, the bed was unmade and the water carafe and glasses were untouched (the tea cups had been washed). I mentioned our surprise to Louisa the next morning and she said she doesn't make beds as she feel it is an intrusion when guests have left their personal property in the room.||||This is a good place to stay if you are happy with the bathroom not being exactly en-suite, no lock on the bedroom door, no clock, radio, television or wifi and you don't wish to come back to a bed made up..

We very much enjoyed our stay and our hosts were very accommodating, allowing us to have a full breakfast at 0630 on a Sunday morning! The bedroom was clean and comfortable and the location is set in beautiful Sussex countryside with lovely views of the fields from our room and breakfast table.

We spent one night here in a B&B room, with a private bathroom in the main corridor. The room and the bathroom were spotlessly clean, and had lovely views over the garden and farmland. Breakfast was good, and the whole building is a lovely conversion of some old barns, and only a ten minute drive from Lewes.||||Our room was small, but very pleasant (the views!). I had a minor disaster - knocked a cup of coffee over. Luckily most of it went onto the tray, but a little splashed onto the tablecloth. Missed the carpet, luckily.||||There were a few niggles - no radio or tv, no wifi. And there wasn't a latch on the door, so it kept opening when doors were opened elsewhere in the house. No lock either, but easily solved by putting a bag in front of it. Some people might not like a private bathroom rather than an en suite.||||Would I stay here again? Hmm, after my coffee fiasco, I don't think I'd be allowed!!

Very well looked after! Thank you so much! will be coming again. ||Myself and my husband had a lovely weekend staying at Chapel Farm where we visited Glyndebourne and Charleston Farmhouse. Highly recommend and will be bringing friends here next year!

In my book, it is exceptionally mean-spirited and anti-social to refuse young parents a room simply because they dare to bring a small baby with them. (For the record, our baby is as quiet as a mouse in the night and has never caused any inconvenience to other guests.)

This is a great place to stay.local to lewes and Brighton.very easy to get about if you have a car.there are bus stops just up the road.chapel farm is in a beautiful location.
