What a delightful stay! I visited for one night when travelling on the SW coast path. Ann and David were wonderful hosts, very friendly, kind and helpful but I also felt like I had plenty of space and privacy. The room was comfortable, clean and spacious; breakfast was delicious (and even featured veggie sausages, as I mentioned I was vegetarian). Less than a five min walk from the wonderful Square & Compass pub. I absolutely recommend staying at the Chiltern Lodge BnB.

Finding a place to stay in Worth Matravers was a blessing; the alternative was over 20 miles walking the South West Coast Path between Lulworth and Swanage. It is getting increasingly hard to find accommodation for one night, which is what walkers on the South West Coast Path are looking for. It is even harder to find accommodation which is near somewhere to eat at the end of the day; the pub in Worth Matravers doesn't do hot food in the evenings, so it was really helpful that Ann offered to cook an evening meal for us. David does a lot of walking, so the accommodation is geared up for walkers, as well as other holiday makers. He gave us some really good information about the path ahead of us, including some really good advice about the best places to get a cup of coffee and some cake! Ann and David were welcoming and informative and excellent hosts.

We had a wonderful night at the Chiltern Lodge during our mini trip walking the South West Coastal Path. Ann & David are absolutely wonderful. The bedroom and bathroom were well supplied with essentials and spotlessly clean. The cooked breakfast was delicious and exactly what we needed before another long hike. David was super helpful with his tips for our next leg of the Coastal path. Highly recommended

We stayed at the Chiltern Lodge while walking the Southwest Coast Path. Out of all the places we stayed on our nine-day trip, I felt that Chiltern Lodge took the most effort regarding cleanliness and COVID precautions, and we felt extremely safe staying there. Ann and David had thoroughly planned the day-to-day business of their B&B to work within COVID guidelines and keep both their guests and themselves safe. The room was immaculately clean, and as the only pub in the village doesn't provide many meal options, we opted to eat at the Chiltern Lodge. Ann and David (after asking about dietary preferences) served us a delicious cottage pie and vegetables, including some beans from their own garden! The meal was perfectly proportioned and delicious, and our breakfast was equally delicious the following morning. We were especially happy that fresh fruit was provided along with our traditional full English breakfast. I would definitely stay here again.

Ann and David made us feel welcome and gave us a useful tip about the Bournemouth Airshow which we watched from Old Harry Rocks. Ann's blackberry jelly is delicious on toast for breakfast. The Square and Compass pub is very close by and we had a great view of the Super Moon from the front garden on Wednesday.

We stayed at Chiltern Lodge BnB for one night on our walk on the SW Coastal path during the Covid pandemic restrictions. Ann and David were very caring, they prepared a dinner for us as part of the walkers package. They were very hospitable, but respecting the social distancing rules. They made us feel very safe and looked after. The room and bathroom were very clean, and breakfast was very tasty.

We stayed with Anne and David for one night whilst walking the SWCP. Some of the reviews have complained about the strict covid guidelines, but these were all communicated with us at time of booking and we were more than happy to oblige. The room was clean and comfortable and the bath was much appreciated after the long walk from Poole. Breakfast was very tasty and David gave us some great advice for our walk ahead to West Lulworth, and mentally prepared us for the hills! They also sent us off with extra biscuits for the walk which came in very handy. I would recommend Chiltern Lodge for anyone walking the path.

The strictness of their covid precautions seems quirky, when most accommodation is reverting towards normal. We (myself, wife and daughter) ate breakfast in the small front porch, which was fine even though it was a cold April morning. The bedrooms were fine too. The bath tub with a shower hose is not my ideal but not out of the ordinary. That check-in is not until 5:30 can be a deterrent. Fortunately the Square and the Compass can provide a pleasant shelter while awaiting check-in.
