Popped in to ask some questions around booking a room. Angie was brilliant. Really helpful even though she was busy dealing with other guests, she was extremely polite, friendly and answered all our questions.

I could write a lengthy review but I'll summarise:|Festive post Christmas lunch served in a draughty corner of a bleak largely empty function room with little festive warmth. |One poor young waitress doing everything hence the service was slower than a snail stuck on a Post It note. |Turkey main course came with dried out thick turkey, slice of uncooked stuffing, flacid pigs in blankets, dry roast potatoes & some hard sprouts. |It takes some skill to ruin gnocchi, pesto and vegetables but the Chef managed it - returned as inedible. (Salty and sour)|20 mins later for a replacement soup when sadly the other party members had finished. |Desserts....the lemon tart tasted dry and old. Sticky toffee pudding was pretty decent according to those who ate it. |The constant microwave pinging is a clue to the food prep going on. |Had I been paying I'd have disputed it but it was a treat from relatives who felt they wanted to pay the bill in full. The poor waitress needs some help, and soon. |Not recommended.

A regency period country house hotel which retains some of the original features with some modern additions to the rear adding extra space for function rooms and a plethora of bedrooms.
Friendly staff and excellent evening food, breakfast was also a delicious treat. I understand that they also source the ingredients from local suppliers.
Large spacious bedroom room and bathroom although the décor was a little dated but fitted our need perfectly.

Enjoyed a delicious lunch with family for my 80th birthday in a private dining room then stayed the night in a beautiful bedroom with large comfortable bed and delicious breakfast. From the day of booking through to our departure the staff were very helpful, nothing was too much trouble.

Staff very friendly and helpful. A beautiful old house in a lovely location, conveniently situated for M4 heading south. Food was delicious, albeit a little pricey. The sirloin steak wax excellent & cooked perfectly. Breakfast should be served from 7am, not 8 as we had to leave at 7:30 so missed out.

Our celebratory event in July went perfectly with everything falling into place exactly as planned. The food was excellent at both the buffet lunch, evening meal and breakfast. All the staff were kind and attentive and worked in an efficient but unobtrusive way. Each of our guests remarked on the comfort and cleanliness of their respective rooms and the quality of the hotel in general. We feel this hotel is under-rated.

Once again an extortionate pet fee - for what ? We only had our small cockerpoo with us - no dirty areas or extra work required by the hotel or staff… would these places charge for a baby in the room? !? Its about time this anti pet owner practice is banned!
