Clawford Lakes truly exceeded all expectations. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly accommodating — nothing was too much trouble. They were warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely happy to stay and chat, which made the experience feel so personal and welcoming.||The facilities were brilliant — everything was clean, well thought out, and really added to the overall comfort of the stay. The fire pit was such a lovely touch; it created the perfect atmosphere in the evenings. The restaurant was fantastic too, with great food and service. We were even squeezed in for a last-minute meal, which was so appreciated and just another example of how they go above and beyond for their guests.||My partner even got to go fishing, which made the holiday even more special for both of us. It’s clear that customer experience is their top priority, and it honestly made the whole trip one I’ll truly treasure. We don’t usually return to the same place twice, but this one is the exception — we’ll definitely be coming back.||Normally, I’m more of a city break person, so this kind of getaway isn’t usually my thing — but Clawford Lakes has completely changed my perspective. I honestly can’t rave about this place enough. Highly recommended!

I booked at Clawford lakes to help my husband get back into fishing after 3 years off due to his health. I chose the cocoon as it has a big veranda and with two small dogs plenty of room inside. I must admit when we entered our cocoon, we were both said WOW. The kitchen was well equipped with a two ring induction hob and full built in oven. The bathroom is bigger than it looks in the pictures and very well spaced. The living room/dining room and bedroom is very spacious. The little things, rope pictures and candles in baskets really make it feel luxurious. The mattress is so comfortable and bed is king size. It's very light in the cocoon. Plenty of sockets too. |Recommend paddle boarding and bude beach. We had our own fire pit and bbq and seating area. |My husband was a few yards from the cocoon with his own swim and thoroughly enjoyed the fishing. We would definitely go back again. All the staff were really friendly and helpful and if you do opt for a cocoon as there is a walk uphill to the accommodation but you can request a porter for luggage, as the car park is seperate but near accommodation. Staff in tackle shop, and in the activity lake we're very helpful and friendly too |Nearest supermarket Tesco is 11 miles away. There is a small co-op in holsworthy itself.

Beautiful weekend spent at Clawford Lakes. We stayed in the signature lodge which was perfect for our family weekend away. We enjoyed fishing off the balcony and taking in the stunning views and tranquility. Great parks for the children and brilliant entertainment, especially Merlin who had us laughing and amazed us at his skills. The food at The Apple & Grape was so good and loved the variety of seating. The reception staff were so helpful and welcoming, nothing was too much to ask. I think I spoke to Penny a few times and she was lovely and helpful. The lakes were beautiful, plenty to choose from. Can't wait to go back. ❤️

We absolutely loved our stay at Crawford Lake! We stayed in Meadow Lodge 17, which was just perfect—spacious, beautifully maintained, and complete with lovely views and a fantastic hot tub. On arrival we had cream tea, milk and dog treats in the lodge which was a lovely touch.||||We pre-booked all our activities the week before, which worked out brilliantly and allowed us to try everything. I also booked a massage once we arrived, and I have to say, it was genuinely the best massage I’ve ever had!||||The way activities are pre booked helped keep everything well organised as it never seemed overcrowded. ||||Even without the activities, there was always plenty to do, indoor swimming, fishing, badminton, table tennis, pool, boules, games in the bar, and multiple play areas for the kids. The restaurant and bar were both really nice, and having takeaway as an option was perfect for days by the lake. The atmosphere throughout the park was lovely and even though there was plenty of accommodation dotted around, we never felt there was a lack of privacy.||||What really made our trip exceptional was the staff. Every single member of the team was warm, welcoming, and went out of their way to help. Special thanks to the lovely lady who checked us in, the wonderful spa team, John behind the bar, and especially Ed.||||Unfortunately, my husband had a small accident with a barbed hook that ended in a trip to A&E. Ed and the team were incredible, trying to help with the hook, offering to transport all the fishing gear and to keep an eye on the kids while we went to A&E, and just making sure we were all okay. Their kindness and quick help turned a stressful situation into a reminder of just how caring and professional the Crawford Lake staff really are.||||Thank you all for a memorable, relaxing, and fun filled stay. We can’t wait to come back!||||Ps loved watching all the masses of geese and their goslings.

We booked fairly last minute, about a week before, booked to stay in The Willows 3 bed caravan with covered decking. |It was lovely, check in smooth, perfectly clean accommodation with a lovely touch of scones, jam and cream on arrival (thank you to the cleaner! ) We booked kayaking and archery and used the new outdoor pool and flumes and the Spa pool. Special mention for Cal who made archery very fun! |The sight is bigger than we thought, lovely to walk around and perfect for doggies. On site shop is very small, but we found a Waitrose nearby as we had to do an emergency antihistamine trip as the Devon hayfever hit like a brick! |Would recommend to for families and couples

Got recommended this place as its dog friendly, and I have to say I was not disappointed. We stay in the lake pod which was on the lake. We had milk and cream tea in the fridge for us and doggy treats for the fur baby. The pod is fresh and cleanThough there is lots of different options where you can stay. It has Lots of dog walks, nice lakes where you can go fishing. It's nice and peaceful.
The bar and restaurant has a nice setting with yummy food.
There's lots of play areas for the children.
Indoor swimming pool and spa. Outdoor lake you can swim and water activities.
The restaurant has dog beds for your dog.
I recommended this place for a nice break away.

My partner and I went here for my birthday and it was just the most scenic spot. We thoroughly enjoyed the location, it was remote, isolated, lots to do on the property. We loved the spa and pool. I had an incredible hot stone massage from Stephanie and the pool was nice and warm, not too crowded. Also the bar staff were very accomodating and friendly, allowing us to borrow an ice bucket for the evening for ny birthday celebrations. The rooms were clean, spacious and well stocked. The beds in our room were two single beds put together so it meant you could feel the divide between the beds which was relatively uncomfortable. A thicker mattress topper would have probably helped. The shower in our room was also a wind up type shower which would get very cold very quickly. Other than that it was a great trip and I would definitely go back.

Just returned from a 4 night stay .. WOW it was stunning, stayed in a lake pod fished from the decking . spent time on the activity lake doing paddle boarding kayaking .|The spa was nice - indoor pool and we were lucky with the weather so enjoyed the outdoor pool as well.|Food in the restaurant was tasty and not overpriced.|The staff were so engaging and helpful it made all the difference .|They even have a small lake for dogs which our lab just loved. |we can't wait to go back
