An eclectic stay to be sure. Room and bathroom were spacious. General house decor was strange but we quite liked it. Staff were very pleasant. Distance from central York is roughly a 10-15 minute walk. Price was incredibly reasonable. Remarkably clean. Only item of note is that the house is clearly quite old so mornings were a bit noisy with people moving about - was not a problem for us personally. Would stay again!

Had a lovely 2 nights stay, our suite with garden view was amazing, definitely recommend! Very cosy inside with all the facilities you might need and own outdoor table. Breakfast was top notch served by very friendly staff. Also located perfectly 10 minutes walk to the centre. Couldn’t be happier with our choice! Would definitely come back if we’re visiting York again.

We booked very last minute for our honeymoon, as we were driving down to York from Edinburgh! Neither of us had visited York before, and this hotel was perfect for everything we needed. The guest house itself is gorgeous, with quirky decor and lovely grounds/garden. It's only an 8-10 minute walk into town so really handy. ||The staff were very welcoming and friendly, and the room (we stayed in The Matchmaker) was lovely, with lots of space and a very comfortable bed. The breakfast was really good, the only thing I would have liked more of was fruit, as there wasn't any available to take yourself, however I got a banana when I asked. ||I do feel free parking in the hotel car park would have been a nice touch, as the rooms aren't cheap, and the parking was £15 per night but it's a small quibble. ||Would be happy to return!

Me and my partner came for our anniversary for 2 nights. We had a wonderful and memorable stay!! The location was great with about a 15 minute walk into the city centre which we didn't mind as it was nice and quiet. The service and hospitality was amazing staff always willing to help with anything you needed. The room we stayed in The Rowntree suite was beautiful and especially clean 😍. The breakfast was wonderful with lots of choice!!
The car park is small but we came earlier in the day and they had spaces. When we arrived our room was already ready too so that was a bonus! ( I don't know what it will be like at the weekends as we came Monday-Wednesday.)
The whole decor was quirky and unique with elegance throughout. We loved the hints of Clementines around the hotel.
As cat lovers ourselves we were thrilled to meet Teddy the hotel's cat. We didn't see him as much as we'd like but we were out and about a lot!
Thank you to the team at this beautiful establishment!! If we are back in York you'll definitely see us again

Fantastic boutique, quirky, funky hotel and pleasant 10 mins stroll from the city walls.||Its too easy these days to go for generic chains when booking city breaks. I came here to celebrate a birthday and was so pleased I did. Tastefully appointed rooms, comfy bed and great friendly staff. ||Beautiful surroundings make this a great spot to stay when visiting the city

Loved this place, rooms were comfy, staff was welcoming and helpful, breakfast was scrumptious, I mean look at it! Recommend to anyone staying in york for 2+ nights! About a 8-10 min walk into the town but very easy to navigate. Room was spacious with lots of storage.

Perfection in every way!! We got married at this gorgeous little boutique hotel and it could not have been better! Laura, the fantastic manager was so accommodating and so helpful and was an absolute lifesaver on the big day. Every member of staff was an absolute delight, all our guests have been raving about the amazing service!! Special thanks to Milly, Cameron! You guys really made our special day perfect ❤️ Also the photos don't do it justice, it really is stunning, and the location is brilliant. We couldn't recommend the Clementine more and can't wait to come back for our anniversary! Thank you all so much - Mr & Mrs McMurray

Beautiful 27 room Guest House about 10 minutes walk from the walls of York. Parking available. We stayed 3 nights in room 25. The room was snug but was beautifully furnished and decorated with its own outside seating area. Bathroom with shower was excellent. There was a beautiful lounge area with a small bar, for spending time throughout the day.|Breakfasts are very good with plenty of choices.|The guest house is beautiful, however it is made special with such young, profesional and friendly staff.
