My husband and I made a last minute decision to go to Lytham and we booked this hotel on the day. |We were greeted with a lovely warm welcome at reception. |Our room was a standard double. |It was lovely and clean and pleasantly decorated.with ample storage, a good selection of hot drinks and bottle water. Lynsey (house keeping) was so lovely. She was very helpful too, told us if we needed anything just let her know.|We were at the back of the hotel, the room was only small but it was adequate for us both. The only criticism I could make was the bathroom could probably do with a light near the mirror. |The location is great for all the amenities, plenty of parking too in a barrier carpark. |The lounge/bar area is very relaxing and was very welcoming when we returned from our long walk.|We ate dinner there and it was delicious, breakfast was equally delicious too. I can highly recommend the sourdough, avocado and poached egg. Probably the best I have ever eaten. All the staff were really friendly and made you feel very welcome. |Jill on reception was great, felt like we left the hotel like old friends.|She explained that the hotel was being refurbished so don’t let other reviews put you off.|We loved it and will definitely be returning.

Came in for a Breakfast brunch and Bev in the restaurant made it a wonderful experience from asking for a table to leaving. She made us both feel very special. We had salmon on scrambled egg, which was delicious. Also had toast and pastries 🥐. We shall definitely return. Great to be treated so nicely. Well done Clifton Hotel Bev is a credit to your restaurant and hotel. Well done Bev and thank you.

We took advantage of the current special offer and stayed overnight although it’s not far from home.|We had a lovely time in Lytham with nice walks along the prom.|The hotel sits on the promenade with extensive views across the bay towards Southport. We had a sea front room and luckily had wonderful sunsets across the sea. |The hotel underwent an extensive refurbishment a few years ago, so is well maintained and offers a comfortable and modern lounge, bar and restaurant all with sea views. The room we had was well appointed, clean and comfortable.|We had a meal in the evening, which exceeded our expectations. The dinner as well presented and delicious and the included bottle of wine was enjoyable.|All of the staff were friendly and helpful. The is also a lovely veranda on the front which would be lovely in summer, but we obviously didn’t use it at this time of year.|Only downside is the car park which is not very big.|Overall we enjoyed everything and will definitely return.

We dined here as a family of 4 specifically for Sunday lunch. We all had the 2 course - 3 starters plus 1 pudding.|Two of us had a delicious creamy parsnip soup plus a prawn cocktail. For mains 3 of us had the beef and the other a chicken - all were very tasty and plentiful. Lastly, one person had a chocolate brownie but his partner kept on nibbling at it!|Service was good and it was reasonably priced. |Would come again.

My fiancé and I went for a coffee since it’s a lovely sunny afternoon. The front desk were just enough helpful, but dont seem to be the proactive, nice and friendly 4 star rating we experienced in other hotels. The lounge where we had our coffee, the staff werent welcoming, an old chap.|We took our seats in a table whilst we wait for the hot drinks. When the staff arrived to serve the coffee, he’s neither polite nor nice, never smiled or cant remember he even greeted us. Just not what we expected.

We had afternoon tea and it was poor. The small taster and sausage roll were fine . Sandwiches ok but the scones and cakes were so disappointing . The scones were hard and dry definitely not fresh and the cakes were very ordinary and no macaron as per the menu. Probably the poorest afternoon tea I have had.

Called in for lunch, food was great sandwiches very filling and beautiful sat out in the sun in the front. The service made it from the moment we asked for a table everyone we spoke to, especially Kiera, was just so lovely, friendly and welcoming. Will certainly be back, looking forward to trying the Sunday lunch next.

Had a wonderful few hours here. They do a bottomless brunch which was wonderful. The service was fabulous and we were really looked after.|Menu wasn't huge but a good choice and very good portions.|Cocktails lovely too. Would definitely recommend.
