It's a lovely little place to visit quite expensive but the Cornish cauliflower pasties I would highly recommend. They were absolutely delicious. Cake seems to be very hit and miss the last time we attended it wasn't great. Very sweet not a lot of flavour. But when we previously attended hot food wasn't great at all. But cake was delicious. Staff are friendly and polite. You will however be expected to queue for quite some time. Service is rather slow. So wouldn't it advise if you're in a hurry to get in and out.

Today we went to Sheffield park and decided to eat in the Cafe instead of providing our own picnic. We saw others in the queue walking by having ordered Mozzarella Pasta Salad and Jacket Potatoes with Bean Chilli, looked good , a decent size and 'only" c£9.50 each. We ordered what we had just seen, but asked if we could "take-it-away to eat in the Park, they nicely said yes. What came was literally half a portion in two "minuscule" cardboard containers. They had clearly found two small boxes and put in what would fit: I was shocked that these tasteless minute offerings had cost me almost £20. Even more so, as I watched others with their decently sized food portions on normal plates who were walking by. Was I angry ? YES!Lesson learnt: do not ask for a take-away serving and probably do not get ripped off by them again by eating their extortionately priced food.

Visited Sheffield Park yesterday for the first time. A beautiful place but the cafe was such a disappointment. The set up is terrible which meant queuing for a long time into a small room. There appeared to be lots of staff hanging around the kitchen whilst customers were waiting to pay/get their hot drinks. I ordered a beetroot and goats cheese quiche, served with salad leaves and coleslaw. It was terrible. Couldn't taste the goats cheese, the beetroot wasn't fresh and it looked like it wasn't homemade. Dry salad leaves and a blob of coleslaw. This establishment could be incredible considering its surroundings but next time I go to Sheffield Park I'll take a picnic.

Vaguely warm sausage rolls served with cheap packets of cash and carry ketchup, no normal soft juices like orange juice , just expensive luscombe cans and a coffee machine capable of one drink every 3 minutes leading to a 20 minute wait for a coffee. Probably the worst NT cafe I have used in 30 years. 2 drinks and 2 tepid sausages rolls for £16

The food was not great, my mother had a sausage roll that tasted very mass produced and my jacket potato was pretty bland with it's undressed salad. That said the staff were really helpful and the atmosphere was nice. I'd definitely come here for a hot chocolate or tea.

Very poor cafe compared with other national trust. Poor choice of food long wait, Poor layout to get food slow and not helpful at all. Plenty of seats but dirty, sticky tables, unhelpful staff water run out after 10 mins needs more than one jug.
Shame used to be better

Small meals and snacks served in a large seating area with an olde world wood panels feel about it. Downside is that the serving counter is very small, too small really for the size of the hall, so queues can be long and slow. My advice is to avoid lunchtimes if possible.

Good for coffee and lunches when visiting the Gardens. Dog friendly and allowed dogs in the read Garden Room. Plenty of outdoor seating.
