Visited today 23rd February for Sunday lunch. Such a lovely setting with friendly staff. Sunday roast looked lovely, unfortunately we had to send them back as they were cold? How can you serve cold food? A traditional Sunday roast, ruined by attempting to re heat in the microwave?

Couple of problems with our room but a quick move to another room resolved the issue. Staff were accommodating and enthusiastic. Good welcome on arrival. Good breakfast. Very close to Coventry eastern bypass and therefore quick access to motorway

First of all I'd like to state that the staff were very friendly and helpful, and even helped with an early check-in when we arrived ahead of schedule.
What was disappointing was the accommodation.
The room lighting was very dim (not great for those with poor vision), and aside from somewhere to hang your clothes there was nothing else provided. This means you having to use the floor for your clothes.
But the biggest pain was the bathroom. I don't know about other rooms but we were in room 7 which has a very poorly fitted flapping sliding door. It doesn't slide without force and makes a hell of a racket doing so. This means any trips to the toilet during the night will definitely wake up your partner. Even when you do slide the door it doesn't fit. You can easily see in and our so you lose your dignity when going to the toilet. We actively avoided going to the toilet in our own room(!) because of it.
There is nowhere in the bathroom to put your toiletries beyond on the sink, so items have to be left on a ledge close to the floor (which is very poor infection prevention control).
The extractor fan was switched off, and when we switched it on we found out why. It was VERY noisy and wouldn't switch off automatically.
Perhaps the biggest pain was the shower. Just as we chose to get ready before going out and meeting friends we found out it didn't work! So we had to improvise and flannel wash using the basin. At 7:30pm on a Saturday night we did not have time to report it and see if the staff could sort it.
The next morning we didn't report the issues we had because to do so would mean to walk to the other building and find someone to discuss it with. It was such a bad experience we just wanted to leave!
The only positive experience was that the bed was comfortable.
Overall I have no idea how management felt that room 7 was a suitable room for guests to use, and if it's managed that badly then we won't wish to return.

It's a 3* hotel so i don't expect anything fancy. We have stopped here twice in the last year. It's due a good freshen up the last room we had was starting to look tired. Bed is reasonably comfy and clean. Good powerfull showers.
My main criticism is the pitifull amount of tea, coffee and milk left in the room. Not enough for a drink in evening and morning. The communal areas had a bit of a stale smell. Lastly there no sockets next to the bed.

Breakfast is available in the pub till 10. It's OK you get access to a simple continental and a cooked breakfast for Β£10. Morrisons cafe is about 5min walk away if you wanted other options.

Family lunch today. Service slow took over 25 mins for order. Meat burger was brought instead of vegetarian but rectified. I ordered vegetable pie as sunday roast option. Only ate vegetables as the pie was a soggy mess of mainly beetroot in the centre in a tasty looking pastry which was brick hard. When raised with the waitress, who said Il let chef know and completely kept a distance from me. At payment I explained again about the pie, to be met by a sullen and non plussed bar staff. Positive customer service would have been to have deducted cost of the pie. Anyone thinking of choosing this option may wish to consider dental insurance. Dissapointed in staff response having been to Greene King numerous times.
