Staff are great coffee is good and the food good. But the moment we head into warm weather there are more flies that a zombie movie. Flocking around the grinding machine, crawling over the cups waiting to be used. They have one of the blue light things but it’s in the corner.

Didn't have food so unable to comment. The coffee is second to none and the batista's are wonderful, friendly and attentive.

I've become a recurring customer recently and have a 'unusual' slightly-more-complicated order, but the wonderful Jade recognised me and rattled it off near perfectly.

That's the level of attention and service that makes you feel valued as a person, and makes you want to keep coming back.

Will always recommend Coffee #1 to friends and family over larger chains, you're just treated nicer and better.

Only been here twice and the first time was great; the food was lovely. This time, the service and cleanliness was lacking. None of the tables or trays had been wiped down so were quite gross. The glass I was given was filthy, as the server touched the rim of it with his sticky fingers and left something on the rim. My toasted teacake was overdone and burnt in most places. Such a shame as could have been a lovely visit.

I love love love this cafe!

The team are incredible here so talkative, engaging and friendly & they make fantastic drinks! I feel like I’ve been welcomed in almost as a part of their team as a customer and that is when you know you’ve found a great cafe and have an amazing team.

I’ve recently been off work with an ongoing injury that is needing rest but also exercise, so my walk to coffee #1 is exactly that. Being at home and feeling like you can’t go anywhere can be incredibly isolating and makes you feel incredibly alone, but luckily the staff here are so talkative and welcoming that they give me something to look forward to each day & give me the social interaction I need to feel positive of my day.

I felt nervous turning up to a coffee shop everyday not knowing how that would be received by the team. But being the other side of a counter in my own store for a different company I knew I would just be seen as another friendly, regular face (at least I’d hope) 😅

I actually said today to the assistant manager here, I look forward to getting my coffee and my order soon to be remembered, there’s nothing more rewarding than learning a new regular customers order, it makes them smile a bit - and today - that indeed happened to me 😄

I normally pop on in with my pup (The Dalmatian Minnie - I’m sure they’ll know who wrote this review now) and sometimes my partner and we both love the fact that they are super dog friendly! And the staff also give her fuss which we both know she loves 🤣 it’s nice to know she feels just as welcomed here as we both do.

I have recently left the coffee industry to allow a full recovery of my injury - however I enjoy the store, atmosphere and most importantly the team that much that if I do decide that coffee is what I would like to do in my future, I’ll for sure be keeping an eye out for positions here!

Lovely staff who have to put up with too many rude customers. We regularly walk into town for a coffee and cake.

This probably is a little gold mine, location, decor are great. However the service is very slow with no apology. There were 3staff at 11am and it took 20mins to get served in the queue. The water dispenser was almost empty and there were 4 glasses on a tray. When I asked the assistant for fresh water she told me it is changed daily, it was very clear that water was from the day before! I looked around the room and I didn't see anyone else with a glass of water on their table and the tray had NOT been set up for opening. One young girl assistant was very helpful and pleasant, the other, who seemed to be a manager was unveiling and gossiping quite loudly to staff. Southsea Coffee #1has very similar problems and many customers are going elsewhere now.
